Livvy Dunne's teammate, Aleah Finnegan, impressed everyone with her floor routine ahead of the SEC Championship

Livvy Dunne and the LSU gymnastics team are set to keep shining this season; they are now on the SEC Championship along with Oklahoma, Florida, and Missouri; this is divided into two sessions inside the Alabama facilities.

The Livvy’s teammate is just 23 years old. She stunned everyone during the practice with her spectacular and perfect floor routine, just a few hours before the gymnastics SEC Championship would begin.

A new queen! Aleah Finnegan, Livvy Dunne’s teammate, impacted everyone with her floor routine

Aleah Finnegan, one of the most talented athletes in the US gymnastics program, used to represent the US in international competencies. In 2021 prior to the Olympic games selection she ended fifth in the all-around behind Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Kayla DiCello, and Grace McCallum of the UK gymnastics classic.

Finnegan, the current representative of the Philippines, decided to compete for the country in international competitions starting in 2022. The International Gymnastics Federation approved her nationality change in May of that year. At the 2021 Southeast Asian Games, which were postponed to 2022, she led the Filipino team to first place in the team competition. Individually, she finished second in the all-around category, behind Rifda Irfanaluthfi of Indonesia.

The LSU gymnastics team is the reigning NCAA champion and is currently fighting to defend their title. This season is particularly significant for some team members, including Olivia Dunne, who is in her super senior year and has announced that she will be earning her diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Two weeks ago, in the final matchup of the SEC regular season, the standout performer was 18-year-old Kailin Chio, who achieved her first perfect score of 10 in her career. This remarkable feat helped secure a number 2 seed for LSU, along with a co-championship with Oklahoma.

  • New low for Brian Kelly: LSU head coach gets trolled by middling Florida Gators team

New low for Brian Kelly: LSU head coach gets trolled by middling Florida Gators team

Brian Kelly, head coach of LSU, is experiencing one of the most challenging moments of his career after being trolled by the Florida Gators, a team that, although not among the top performers of the season, took the opportunity to mock LSU.

This episode highlights the growing pressure on Kelly, who took over in 2022 with the task of bringing LSU back to the top of the SEC (Southeastern Conference), but whose management is being severely questioned after several setbacks this season.

Brian Kelly’s Explosive Sideline Meltdown During LSU-Florida Game

The Gators mock Kelly and LSU

The recent matchup between LSU and Florida which they lost 27-16, made it clear that Kelly’s team did not meet expectations, as they not only suffered a surprising defeat but also became the subject of ridicule by Florida players, intensifying the humiliation for both the coach and his team.

This kind of situation is not new in college football, where the competition in the SEC is fierce, but when a team that isn’t performing at its best can mock one with higher ambitions, the blow is even harder.

The Gators, with an inconsistent performance throughout the season, found the perfect opportunity to make fun of LSU’s defeat, highlighting the Tigers’ mistakes and lack of preparation.

This made the match even more symbolic, as Florida, a team not expected to be a serious threat, capitalized on every opportunity to expose LSU’s weaknesses, from Kelly’s tactical decisions to the individual errors of the players.

Kelly’s deficiency despite having one of the best programs in the country

This incident underscores the growing discontent among LSU fans, who expected much more after Kelly’s hiring, especially with hopes of building a dynasty that could compete with the best programs in the country.

Now, Kelly faces the pressure of proving that he can steer LSU back on course and close the gap with the top teams in the SEC.

  • Quinn Ewers shrugs off haters and delivers calm message after destroying Florida

Quinn Ewers shrugs off haters and delivers calm message after destroying Florida

The Texas Longhorns have been the talk of the nation in college football in 2024 for a multitude of reasons. More than anything, the team is very good and a National Championship contender. Then there’s the quarterbacks storyline. Arch Manning has been outstanding when forced to fill in for Quinn Ewers, but head coach Steve Sarkisian has been very committed to keeping Ewers as the starter all throughout the season.

Ewers hasn’t exactly done enough to squash talks of a quarterback controversy. After returning from injury, Ewers threw four interceptions in three games, one of which was a brutal offensive showing in a loss to Georgia. That game in particular, plus a close win against Vanderbilt, had many wondering if a change could be on the way soon. But Ewers slammed the door shut on Saturday against the Florida Gators.

In a 49-17 win, Ewers was nearly perfect, completing over 70% of his passes for 333 yards and five touchdowns. A performance like that will do well to quiet the haters, at least a little bit.

Following the game, Ewers spoke to the media and delivered a cool, calm and collected answer while discussing how the offense wanted to start hot following the bye week.

There definitely might have been a little bump. But again, we’re just trying to go 1-0 every week and try to be us every week. If we take it one week at a time, I think we’re gonna be in a good spot.

Quinn Ewers embraces his Texas roots by showing off his look

Manning actually ended up playing the whole fourth quarter after Texas went up 49-10. He threw six passes, completing three of them for 19 yards. Texas’ next game will come at Arkansas against the hit-or-miss Razorbacks.
