As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be taking the final call on the pacer before the deadline for the squad changes ends.

    Jasprit Bumrah is currently at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He recently underwent scans on his back and the medical staff will now be coordinating with the selectors and the Indian team management before making the decision related to his participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

    Jasprit Bumrah reportedly has experienced a stress reaction in his back, which requires five weeks of rest. It is learned that if there is even a slight chance that the pacer will be available for the latter stages, then BCCI will keep him in the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and replace him later, subject to ICC approvals.

    The reports added that if Jasprit Bumrah misses out, then the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will add Harshit Rana to the team. The fast bowler is part of the squad for the ongoing series against England and also played the first two games of the series.

    “I know a lot of great fast bowlers, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath, didn’t get to play T20 cricket, so I’m not talking about those guys, but in regards to anyone who has played all three formats, I think he might be the best ever. He’s actually that good in any conditions, that’s what makes him great; any conditions, any format, this guy’s a freak,” added Clarke.
