Former Disney star Christy Carlson Romano almost lost an eye after accidental shooting with her husband

Former Disney star Christy Carlson Romano almost lost an eye while shooting for her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday, The Post reported.

The 40-year-old actress shared a video on Instagram on Saturday showing the injuries to her face, including a large gash under her right eye, after another part “hit her in five places”

Olivia Dunne stuns with flawless gymnastics routine compilation that leaves fans speechlessTikTok

In his post, Romano explained that the outing was intended to be a “gift” for Rooney’s birthday

“Then I got shot in the eye. It was not fun,” the “Even Stevens” star said with a shaky sigh at the beginning of the clip.

“I got shot here. It’s still in there,” he continued, pointing to a bullet hole under his eye, which was swollen with blood inside the eyeball.

“There’s a fragment here,” Romano said, tapping the side of his face near his eye. “Here’s a fragment,” Christy added, pointing to a mark on his forehead.

Romano lifted her hair to show another wound on her forehead and said: “We cleaned it up, and I’m so grateful to all the first responders. They are the most amazing superheroes who will take care of us in our most desperate moments.”

Romano expressed his gratitude for the care he received at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas.

“This was something really bad tonight,” he said. “Everything is clearing up. But I must say I was shot in the face. And live to tell the tale. Be thankful every day.”

The terrifying moment in Christy Carlson Romano’s life

In the title of his post, Romano went into more detail about the heartbreaking incident on Friday.

“Yesterday was my husband’s birthday and I took him clay pigeon shooting as a present,” she wrote.

“There was another group with us and they shot unsafely in the wrong direction and shot me in the face,” he explained.

The “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” star said her husband “immediately sprang into action, assessed me and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in five places, one was less than an inch from hitting me directly in the right eye.”

“Unfortunately, a fragment lodged behind my eye and it is too risky to surgically remove at this time. Doctors will continue to monitor me,” added Romano, who noted that he can “see normally at the moment.”

“With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive. I love my daughters, my husband, my family and my friends so much.

“I saw my life flash before my eyes and I tell you, hug the people around you whenever you can. Life can change in an instant.”

Rooney, who is a screenwriter and director, shared a tribute to his wife in the comments section of his Instagram post.

“You are the bravest, toughest, most stoic, toughest woman I have ever met,” Rooney said. “I’m so grateful that you’re alive. I’m so grateful that you’re the mother of our children. I wouldn’t know what to do without you.”

“I love you more than life itself,” she added, with a praying hands emoji.

Rooney also shared the video of his wife on his Instagram story, writing: “Kiss your loved ones” and adding a red heart emoji.

Clay pigeon shooting is an outdoor sport in which inverted circular discs made of limestone and pitch are used as targets and propelled into the air by machines.

The shooters use shotguns and each shot projects hundreds of small lead balls to hit the clay pigeons

In general, sport is not considered dangerous as long as safety measures are followed.

Naomi Watts reveals her problems getting pregnant: “I would have eaten my dog's toenails if it would have helped”

Through her memoirs, British actress Naomi Watts has told some details about her life. One of them is the long struggle she went through to finally get pregnant. She is now the mother of Sasha and Kai, two young people aged 17 and 16, respectively. However, it was not an easy task.

At 36, the actress was in a relationship with American actor and director Liev Schreiber. The idea of motherhood appeared at the moment she made the decision to take the step: “I had spent my entire adult life up to that point trying to avoid pregnancy, so when I felt ready at 36, I assumed I would get pregnant on my first try, maybe on the second or third at most. Months went by. Nothing.”

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts dies at age 80

“I spent a lot of money, but I would have mortgaged my house to try to solve this problem (…) They even did scans to see the ovarian follicles and the eggs forming… None of that worked,” explains Naomi Watts in the book. At the beginning of this hell, she tried to control her ovulation and her basal temperature, although there was no good news.

She was later told that she was not a candidate for in vitro fertilization because of her hormone levels. The actress then opted for fertility drugs and intrauterine insemination procedures. “I would have eaten my dog’s toenails if someone had told me that would help,” she says

Watts: “I wrote it for anyone going through menopause”

Finally, the long-awaited news came when she was filming ‘Eastern Promises’, the film she starred in with Viggo Mortensen. Although she had to do a stunt scene, the actress went ahead with her work.

“I wrote it for anyone who is going through menopause and is wondering what the hell is going on, and for anyone who is going to go through it and wants to be prepared, and so they don’t go into that period blind, like I did,” Watts said.

  • Jury nullification, the phenomenon by which Luigi Mangione would walk free from the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO

Jury nullification, the phenomenon by which Luigi Mangione would walk free from the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO

It has been several days since the trial against Luigi Mangione, the man accused of shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO to death outside a New York City hotel, has been stalled and for weeks it has been anticipated that he would not return to federal court in Manhattan until mid-February, after prosecutors and attorneys asked for more time to prepare the case for trial.

The lawyers agreed in a letter to the court that the deadline for filing an indictment against Luigi Mangione can be extended from January 18 until February 17.

Brittany Mahomes sparks controversy with “likes” on Trump amid scrutiny of her marriage to Patrick

In the midst of this situation, Mangione’s lawyer Karen Friedman relives her fears that her client will not get a fair trial in the end, as she has been claiming for months that government officials have made prejudicial statements about him.

The possibility that the jury is not impartial

Friedman claims Mangione is being treated as a “sideshow” and that the authorities are “parading him around,” and while the judge promised that the proceedings would be fair and that the jury selection would be careful, in the end no one can be sure what will happen to them, especially amid the growing ‘popularity’ of the defendant based on the motives he had for committing the crime, and which are aligned with the public’s feelings about insurance companies. Some even foresee that he will be acquitted, as part of a phenomenon known as ‘Jury Nullification’.

There are several voices who believe that this possibility may arise, such as Clay S. Conrad, author of the book ‘Jury Nullification: The Evolution of a Doctrine’, who recently told InTouch Weekly that he would not be surprised “if one or more people went into the jury supporting him“. It is known that the jury selection process is designed to eliminate people who will not be impartial, but on this occasion there are strong reasons to believe that around Mangione and his process, it will not be so.

    The facts ‘would condemn’ Mangione

The evidence the state has against Mangione is a 3D-printed gun found in his backpack that matches the shell casings from the crime scene, as well as fingerprints taken from a water bottle and protein bar packaging. However, Mangione says he is innocent of the state murder and terrorism charges

However, there is a possibility that he will be declared innocent because of the phenomenon described above, although there is still sanity in the analysis, and it was Syracuse University College of Law professor Gregory Germain who told the publication: “Most of us hate insurance companies and have had difficult experiences dealing with them, but that doesn’t mean we think people should be going around murdering insurance executives in the street.”*With information from Lapresse and reports

Taylor Swift sent a specially made gift to Brittany and Patrick Mahomes that no one saw coming

This has been a big, big week for Patrick Mahomes. While he prepares to face the Houston Texas in the Divisonal Round of the NFL Playoffs, wife Brittany gave birth to their third child. Named Golden Raye, Patrick and Brittany’s second daughter was born on January 12, and was met with a ton of fanfare on social media.

Congratulations poured in from every which way for one of the most notable couples in all of sports. Given how close Taylor Swift has gotten to Brittany, fans were on pins and needles waiting to see how the global music superstar would welcome Golden Raye into the world. Swift “liked” the announcement post on Instagram, but took things up a notch with a special gift.

Top secret! Patrick Mahomes shares delivery room moments with fans

Taylor Swift’s aunt knits handmade blanket for Golden Raye

Just like she did for several other high-profile friends, Swift implored her aunt to craft a special blanket for Golden Raye. According to a source for Page Six, Swift is “thrilled” for her new friends.

Taylor is so looking forward to meeting Brittany and Patrick’s baby girl and she couldn’t be more thrilled for her friends. Taylor’s aunt knitted her a baby blanket when she was a child so it’s always had a special meaning for her and something she wanted to do for her friends. It’s become a tradition for Taylor, something she loves doing and something that can’t be bought. It comes from the heart.

Although Swift has done it before for other friends, it’s still a wonderful gesture considering her relationship with the Mahomes’ is relatively new. It shows the kind of compassion she’s become known for.

  • Habits are the key to achieving your goals in 2025: why does it take 21 days to incorporate them?

Habits are the key to achieving your goals in 2025: why does it take 21 days to incorporate them?

Once the Christmas holidays are over, we land squarely in 2025. The motivation to achieve our goals in the new year may wane and these goals may remain just good intentions. This can increase the weight of our backpack of things we didn’t achieve.

To achieve our goals, we need habits. And what is a habit? As Sara Manzaneque, integral coach and therapist of grief, attachment and parts work, defines it, a habit is an action that we repeat frequently and automatically. We all repeat many habits in our daily lives: the place where you hang your keys, turn off the lights before leaving, take off your shoes at home, brush your teeth… Everyday life is built on habits.

Brittany Mahomes shows off Thanksgiving gym routine while pregnant

So, if you want to achieve your goals, you must create an action plan that includes habits that will help you achieve those goals.

If your purpose is to have a healthy life, the habits you need to incorporate should be in line with this. You need to establish what habits you will carry out for your goal and repeat them over and over again, with motivation and without it. For this, discipline is key. One day you can allow yourself to be flexible, but remember that the achievement of the goal lies in the times you repeat these habits.

Although it is advisable for each person to find their own motivations, here are some examples of habits that some people want to incorporate at the beginning of a new year:

    – Exercise regularly.

    – Drink more water.

    – Eat healthy.

Why 21 days to incorporate a habit?

Do not try to incorporate many habits at once. Better one by one. The 21-day rule, inspired by Asian techniques, assures that it is possible to implement a new behavior if you repeat it continuously for 21 days.

Experts in the study of human behaviour have determined that a habit is acquired or lost in 21 days. They also say that part of that habit remains in the brain, so it can be reactivated at any time, which is why consistency, discipline and willpower are great allies.

The creation of new habits involves the generation of new neural connections in the brain. The 21-day theory suggests that these occur gradually and should influence people’s subconscious. So give yourself time and repeat, repeat and repeat.

90% of success, as coach Sara Manzaneque points out, is just about sticking with it. And when you set your mind to something, remember: a goal without a deadline is just a wish. If you set a date, you already have a goal. Add a plan with intention and repeat. It will be a success.

  • NASA makes key decision to make life on Mars possible

NASA makes key decision to make life on Mars possible

For several decades, NASA has been committed to the exploration of planet Mars, and now scientists have decided to use nuclear fission energy as the main energy source for future manned missions.

With this, NASA seeks to overcome the energy challenges posed by the Martian environment, as well as accelerate the viability of sustainable human missions on the red planet, gizmodo.com reported.

Nasa releases POV footage of the Mars

The conditions on the planet present extreme challenges for power generation, and although solar energy is efficient on Earth, on Mars it faces limitations due to its distance from the Sun, as well as several phenomena, including dust storms that can obscure the sky for weeks.

Nuclear fission, which uses elements such as uranium-235 or plutonium-239, generates enormous amounts of energy by splitting atomic nuclei. This technology, independent of sunlight and weather conditions, is being studied to ensure a constant energy supply on the planet.

NASA explained that the essential systems for survival and operation on Mars will require a reliable power source, and experts estimate that a compact fission reactor capable of generating 10 kilowatts could be sufficient to meet basic needs.

This energy will be crucial to control the temperature in the habitats and maintain adequate living conditions, as well as to purify the air and generate drinking water through advanced processes.

Other benefits would be the production of oxygen using technologies such as MOXIE, which extracts oxygen from Martian carbon dioxide, and it will also be able to power exploratory vehicles and scientific equipment, maximizing their operational efficiency.

The Kilopower project and its importance for the future of Mars

NASA is developing compact nuclear reactors with the project known as Kilopower.

These reactors, designed to provide continuous power for years, will be critical to the success of long-duration missions. They will also enable tasks such as local resource extraction and processing, which are essential to establishing a sustainable presence.

But before implementing them on Mars, these technologies are being tested on the Moon as part of the Artemis program. The testing ground is crucial to ensure that the systems work properly in extreme conditions.

With the use of nuclear energy, NASA is advancing the possibility that the time will come when living on Mars will be a real possibility.

This approach not only addresses energy challenges, but also represents a strategic breakthrough towards the colonization of the red planet. Testing on the Moon and the development of advanced reactors mark a milestone on the road to expanding humanity beyond Earth as never seen before.

Swift was on tour, while Kelce was busy with his Kansas City Chiefs commitments. Then came Swift’s 35th birthday, which Kelce made sure to make special with an extravagant surprise party. Perhaps still feeling the effects of that party, nothing was said about what the couple did for New Year’s. A new report states the two decided to keep it low-key for the end of 2024.

Travis Kelce’s busy schedule kept him from going big for New Year’s Eve

A source for Page Six reveals that the two had a “romantic” celebration for the new year, which was kept private and intimate due to Kelce’s busy schedule.

They flew back together to Kansas City on Monday (due to Kelce having Chiefs practice on December 30 and January 1). Travis also had a ‘New Heights’ podcast taping. Taylor and Travis spent New Year’s Eve together in Kansas City and shared a kiss as soon as it hit midnight. It was very romantic.

Given how many lavish parties and nice restaurants the two have attended since they started dating, they chose to keep it chill this time around. Who can really blame them, particularly Kelce who had a lot of things to get done despite it being a down time for regular people.

There won’t be a shortage of grand events for Swift and Kelce to show out at in the future.
