The fast bowler came up with the name of MS Dhoni, expressing his desire to see what it feels like to be one of the most beloved cricketers globally.

    “Question: If you could swap lives with any other cricketer for a day, who would it be & why?

    Tim Southee said, “MS Dhoni – just wanted to see how life will be as MS Dhoni”.

    Since the last few months, there has been a lot of speculation about the future of Dhoni in the Indian Premier League. The keeper-batter is in the last phase of his career and even has been speculations that the keeper-batter has played his already played his last season as a player in the league.

    This was because, after the 2023 edition, MS Dhoni said that he would be playing one more season in the league. He also decided to hand over the captaincy of the team to young Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, there have been few reports that stated that his future in the league will depend on the guidelines related to auctions and RTMs.

Swapnil drew a parallel line after winning the medal as he said that he looked up to Dhoni as inspiration due to similarities in their journey.

    The former India captain worked as a ticket collector at the Kharagpur Railway Station before making big in the Indian cricket. On the other hand, Kusale worked along a similar job profile at the Kolhapur Station in Maharashtra. It was also reported that Indian Railways kept rejecting Kusale’s plea for promotion for years, but after his performance at the Olympics, they decided to provide him double promotion.

    “I don’t follow anyone specific in the shooting world. Outside of that, I admire Dhoni for the person that he is. My sport requires me to be as calm and patient as he is on the field. I also relate to his story as I am a ticket collector like he was,” said Kusale as quoted by The Times of India.

    Once the rules and regulations get formalised, I will take a call on retirement: Dhoni 

    Talking about Dhoni, the veteran stepped down from the captaincy at Chennai Super Kings ahead of IPL 2024. It is worth noting that he announced international retirement on 15th August 2020 and is seen playing only in the IPL. CSK had a disastrous outing in IPL 2024 under new skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, failing to make it to the play-offs. As the 2025 season nears, fans are speculating about the availability of their cherished cricketer, and Dhoni is seeking new retention rules before going ahead.

    Bumrah finished the competition as the third-highest wicket-taker, taking 15 wickets in 8 games while maintaining a stunning economy rate of 4.17. He was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament for his brilliant effort. He is likely to be seen in action when India hosts Bangladesh for the Test series next month.

    MS Dhoni set to play IPL 2025:

    Talking about MS Dhoni, the legendary wicketkeeper is likely to return to action next year during IPL 2025. In May this year, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that the franchise is hopeful of Dhoni’s participation in the IPL next year.

    “I do not know. It is a question which only MS can answer. The question for us, we have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him,” Viswanathan had said on CSK’s YouTube channel.

    “As all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides.

    “But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK the next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine,” he had added.

    Ruturaj Gaikwad was one of the shining lights for Team India in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. The batter played a match-winning innings and helped India win the game by a massive margin and level the five-match series 1-1, having lost the first game by 13 runs. 

    Ruturaj Gaikwad, who failed to set the stage on fire in the first match, made sure that he came up with a superlative effort with the bat. The Chennai Super Kings batter took some time to get going but once he was in, he made sure that he bats till the very end. 

    Ruturaj Gaikwad played some gorgeous strokes in his innings and played a perfect second fiddle to Abhishek Sharma. The opening batter, who was playing his second international match, slammed a brutal century as the duo added 137 runs for the second wicket. 

    Ruturaj Gaikwad slammed a brilliant half-century and ended with the innings of unbeaten 77 runs off 47 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 163 and also hit 11 fours and 1 six in his innings. He faced a bit of criticism after he failed in the first game but replied to everyone in style. 

    Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh played an innings of unbeaten 48 runs off 22 balls and had a strike rate of 218. He also hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. Based on his brutal power hitting in the end, India ended with a total of 234 runs on the board. 

    With the ball, India was on top as they kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals and bundled out Zimbabwe for 134 runs to win the game by 100 runs. Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan bagged three wickets each. Apart from them, Ravi Bishnoi chipped in with two wickets while Washington Sundar bagged one scalp.
