Nikola Jokic stays warm in yet another bent rim delay during Cavaliers at Nuggets

Nikola Jokic showed why he’s the reigning, back-to-back league MVP on Friday night when the Denver Nuggets home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers was delayed for about 10 minutes over a bent rim.

Earlier this week, when hosting the Boston Celtics, Denver also had a bent rim delay that lasted over 35 minutes.

Denver Nuggets travel to Serbia to surprise Nikola Jokic with NBA MVP awardAP

The delay was much shorter on Friday, but maybe Jokic learned something from the first time, because he stayed warm throughout the stoppage.

Jokic, 27, was seen running back-and-forth near the crooked rim to stay warm. He was seemingly the only player doing such activities.

Other funny moments from the bent rim delay was head coach Mike Malone looking at the basket, shaking his head and walking back to the bench.

Bent rim delay part two gets funnier

During the first rim delay, the crowd grew impatient and started to boo, but the man fixing the basket did not let up and finally got it straight.

This time, the boos came much quicker, making the situation that much funnier.

Nuggets guard Jamal Murray sat with some fans to watch the worker fix the rim.

The incident occurred at the start of the fourth quarter and Nuggets would go on to easily win the contest 121-108.

Mbappe is taunted by Argentina fans as he attends an NBA game in Brooklyn

Kylian Mbappe must have been taken by surprise when he heard the famous Argentine chant ‘Muchachos’ during an NBA game in Brooklyn.

The Paris Saint-Germain star attended the Brooklyn Nets‘ duel against the San Antonio Spurs at the Barclays Center on Monday, as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving‘s side managed to grab a comfortable 139-103 victory, one which was their 12th in a row.

When some Argentine fans noticed Mbappe‘s presence at the Barclays Center, they didn’t hesitate to sing the chant that became the Albiceleste’s unofficial anthem heading into the 2022 World Cup.

The Paris Saint-Germain star netted a hat-trick in the final between France and Argentina, with the Nets even showing one of his goals on the big screen.

However, Argentina won on penalties and the fans in attendance are still celebrating their first World Cup trophy since 1986.

The Mbappe doll of Emiliano Martinez

There was also controversy during the Argentina victory parade, as Emiliano Martinez celebrated with a doll that had Mbappe‘s face on it.

That was despite Martinez conceding four times to the French forward on the night, including his penalty in the shootout.

  • Antetokounmpo manages an NBA record no player has achieved in 40 years

Antetokounmpo manages an NBA record no player has achieved in 40 years

Just a couple of days after recording 45 points, 22 rebounds and seven assists in the Milwaukee Bucks‘ loss to the Chicago Bulls, Giannis Antetokounmpo produced another extraordinary display against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This time Giannis registered 43 points, 20 rebounds and five assists to lead his time to their first win in five games after defeating Minnesota 123-114.

With his figures against the Timberwolves, the Greek Freak became the first NBA player to manage at least 40 points and 20 rebounds in back-to-back games since Moses Malone did so in 1982.

With his five assists, Giannis joins Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor as the only players in history capable of recording two 40+20+5 in a row. Chamberlain did so five times, most recently on January 6-7, 1966, and Baylor did it once.

“It’s a great compliment to be around those guys,” said Antetokounmpo.

“I just want to win games so I just tried to go out there and do whatever I can to push myself to the limit.”

Giannis is also only the seventh player in history to record at least 40 points, 20 rebounds and five assists while shooting 60 percent from the field. Since the NBA merged with the ABA in 1976/77, only Charles Barkley and the Bucks player have done it more than once.

“It’s what we’ve been talking about,” Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said.

“His force, his determination, his will, attacking, attacking, attacking … it’s what he’s built for.”

In the game against Minnesota, Bobby Portis finished with 22 points for the Bucks, while Anthony Edwards scored 30 and Luka Garza recorded 16 for a Wolves team that played without Rudy Gobert, who missed out due to illness. The Timberwolves have now lost five consecutive games.

  • John Stockton boldly suggest 'thousands' of pro athletes died after Covid vaccine shot

John Stockton boldly suggest 'thousands' of pro athletes died after Covid vaccine shot

One of the glories of the Utah Jazz in the NBA is undoubtedly John Stockton, whose on-court relationship with Karl Malone gave the team its glory days. But just as Stockton was good on the court, he has long been dedicated to making bold, unscientific statements.

The most recent was made during an interview with Michele Tafoya, where he claims to have proof that “hundreds” if not “thousands” of professional athletes have died after being vaccinated against Covid-19.

It is not the first time he insists with such a statement

Some time ago, in an interview with the Spokesman-Review of Spokane, Washington, Stockton claimed that he knew of 150 athletes who had died from the Covid-19 vaccine.

“I think it’s pretty much on record, there’s 150, I think it’s now over 100 professional athletes dead. Professional athletes, in the prime of their life, dropping dead vaccinated, right on the field of play, right on the field, right on the court,” Stockton said.

That brought him several criticisms from fans and media outlets such as The Wrap, which noted, “Those claims are not backed up by any scientific or factual data.”

Now he claims there are ‘thousands’ of deaths

During the recent podcast Sideline Sanity with Michele Tafoya, Stockton insisted on his bold assertion, “I knew at the time that 150 was a dramatically low number,” he added, while claiming to have proof of the athletes who died when he made those claims to the Spokesman-Review.

“I went back and looked; I have names, pictures, faces, where they played,” Stockton continued. “I had over 300 at the time, so I felt pretty confident with my 150, and again people had to come out and discuss it. I had the proof in my hands: a piece of paper with the names on it.”

“Now it’s a lot more than that,” Stockton said. “I think it’s thousands now, but don’t quote me. I’m not saying it’s 1,000 or more, but it might be. It’s a big number,” he concluded.

  • Luka Doncic guided the Mavs past the Rockets with another triple-double

Luka Doncic guided the Mavs past the Rockets with another triple-double

For the second game in a row, Luka Doncic has managed to post a triple-double, this time against the Houston Rockets, and posting just 35 points, in comparison to his historic performance a couple of nights ago.

The Dallas Mavericks won the game with a final scoreboard of 129-114, and extended their winning streak to five, the best they’ve had so far this season.

Doncic scored 35 points, secured 12 rebounds and gave 13 assists tonight. This was the second time this season that the Serbian player posts a triple-double stat line on consecutive games.

Jason Kidd was very happy about his team’s win against Houston

Jason Kidd expressed his excitement about the Mavericks win this Thursday night, and despite his best player posting another triple-double, the coach for Dallas thinks they didn’t have to rely on Luka as everyone contributed to the win.

“I thought this was a great team win. We didn’t have to rely on Luka.”

Christian Wood added 21 points for the Mavs, while Dwight Powell had his best showing this season with 19 points coming of the bench, with Tim Hardaway Jr. adding 18 more.

Doncic secured the triple-double with his 10th assist with 5:37 remaining in the third quarter.

  • McCollum recalls Michael Jordan moment: 'Get the ball to Zion, get the f**k out of the way'

McCollum recalls Michael Jordan moment: 'Get the ball to Zion, get the f**k out of the way'

Even though Michael Jordan was a star from day 1 in the NBA, he didn’t start winning Playoff games by himself until 1989. That was the year in which coach Doug Collins witnessed the first glimpses of the 6-ring player we all got to know and love. It happened at the1989 Eastern Conference First Round between the Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers’ Game 5. Michael Jordan completed what we all know as ‘The Shot’ today, he showed the entire world how dominant he was and got a legendary quote from Collins after the game.

During the press conference next to Mike, a reporter asked Doug what his call was on that last play that won the game. His response was: “That was, ‘get the ball to Michael, everybody get the fuck out of the way’.” After saying those words, Michael Jordan couldn’t help but burst into laughter as the rest of the people inside the pressing room. It was a quote we didn’t think we would hear again until last Wednesday. There is a new player who inspired one of his teammates to say these exact same words due to how dominent he is in the game of basketball.

CJ McCollum channels his inner Doug Collins

Last Wednesday, the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves with a last-minute play where Zion Williamson scored the penultimate bucket of the game. He recovered the ball from a Wolves player and bullied himself to the basket. D’Angelo Russell was upset right after, he recognized Zion plays football in the NBA due to his potent physique as nobody can stop him. Williamson ended that game with a career high 43-points and he is only improving. It’s pretty clear that the New Orleans Pelicans have a shot at Playoffs this season thanks to him.

This is where that Doug Collins quote about Michael Jordan got recalled by one of Zion’s teammates, CJ McCollum. After the game, he was asked what the play calling was during that second half where Zion scored 33 of his 43 points. This is what he said: “We really had diverse play calling down the stretch. Give the ball to [Zion Williamson] and get the f**k out of the way.” We don’t know if he remembered that Doug Collins quote but it was strangely similar. Zion will only keep improving this season and throughout his career, as long as he remains healthy.

  • Brittany Renner hits out and reveals prestigious list of NFL and NBA stars she's slept with

Brittany Renner hits out and reveals prestigious list of NFL and NBA stars she's slept with

Model Brittany Renner has been linked with more sportsmen than a team picking first in the draft, and she’s now revealed what it’s like to be the centre of attention from the NBA and NFL.

Renner was accused of ‘seducing’ and ‘trapping’ Charlotte Hornets forward P. J. Washington after she gave birth to his baby amid a nasty breakup, and it’s rumoured she’s also dated Colin Kaepernick, James Harden, Ben Simmons and Jamal Murray.

But she’s hit out at her star-studded body count, saying she’s never been ‘valued by any of her partners.

“I know what it’s like to be desired by men,” Renner said on The Pregame Show podcast.

“I don’t know what it’s like to be valued by one. When people ask me, why hasn’t it worked out with anyone? Well, because I’ve never valued myself. I’ve been running from myself for a very long time.

“And I’m no longer drinking it away, eating it away, sleeping it away, f**king it away. I’m sitting with my s**t.”

    ‘Repulsive’ list of sexual partners

Aged 30, Renner‘s previously hit out at 24-year-old Washington for ‘knowing exactly what he was doing’ when he impregnated her, but she didn’t just save her criticism for the Hornet this time.

“People that I shared my body with, when I think about my list, it’s repulsive because they didn’t deserve it, but that was an outcome of me discounting my worth,” Renner added.

“And it’s disgusting. I hate even having that spiritual tie in any type of way, but yeah I would absolutely change sexually how I move around.”

In the podcast taglined ‘Can a hoe ever be a house wife’, Renner continued: “It doesn’t feel good knowing that you gave a sacred part of yourself to a man that looked at sex with you like taking a piss.

“It’s not fulfilling, it’s disgusting to think about, and I feel like I’ve beat myself up every single day for my decisions. And what people say about me online holds no candle to what I’ve told myself on a daily basis. I’ve been called worse by better and that better being me.”

    What Kaepernick made her do

Renner previously hit the headlines for revealing what Kaepernick made her do on their first date.

Summarised from her book ‘Judge This Cover’, she reportedly said:

“In true Colin form, he told her she had to pay for her own flights to see him.

“Convinced her that this was a test to gauge her true intentions and interest. Told her that if she was in it for the right reasons, she would save her money for flights.

“When it was time for her to catch her flight home, she asked when was she going to see him again. He said and she quoted, ‘What I want to do and what I’m going to do are two different things. That’s all I’m going to say.’ It went downhill from there.”

  • Celtics and Nuggets keep pace… with the awakening of Warriors and Lakers?

Celtics and Nuggets keep pace… with the awakening of Warriors and Lakers?

Aside from Luka Doncic‘s historic display, the two teams leading the NBA in the conferences maintained their winning momentum. In the East, the Boston Celtics. In the West, the Denver Nuggets.

Boston, which was no match for the inconsistent Houston Rockets (126-102), continues to rely on the inspiration of what may be considered the best duo in the NBA: Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The Nuggets in the West are on a roll. They have won five in a row, and against the Sacramento Kings (106-113) they did not need the most devastating Jokic (20+11+9) and his final rush in the last period tipped the scales. Porter Jr. with 30 points proved fundamental.

    The awakening in California?

The West Coast also experienced an awakening, one that is ongoing, as the Golden State Warriors without Stephen Curry are, little by little, building streaks. While their 14-2 home record is the best in the NBA, it is vital for the champions that the non-stellar players at the beginning of the year gain confidence.

And then there are the Lakers. Their 51 points against in the third quarter on Christmas Day seemed like the nail in the coffin of the season, but from that weakness they have drawn strength. LeBron James is still in dominating mode, and scored 28 points, supported by Westbrook’s triple-double with 15+13+13. They are 14-20 in the standings, three points away from the Play-IN.

LeBron James has had enough of trade rumors: Go ask Rob Pelinka those questions

Just when it looked like the Los Angeles Lakers had found their groove after some strong performances, Darvin Ham‘s team have once again reverted to old habits.

Anthony Davis‘ injury, which will keep him out for at least a month, hasn’t helped matters. And while they’ve shown improvement in several areas, they are still performing well below expectations.

With a 13-17 record, Ham’s team remains in 12th place in the West and on the outside looking in when it comes to a playoff spot. That is why trade rumors continue to swirl around the team. What’s clear is they can’t contend with the roster as it’s currently constructed, and changes are needed to turn things around.

LeBron James is confident in his team

When asked about the rumours surrounding the Lakers, James, seemingly annoyed by the constant chatter, made his feelings clear.

“That’s not a question for me,” LeBron said. “I have no idea. When I’m playing, I show up, I prepare to work, do the work, get my guys ready to win a basketball game. I play the game and I’m not in the front office. So, we’ll see. But I’m focused on the games and trying to win basketball games, especially when I’m on the floor. Go ask Rob [Pelinka] those questions.”

Ham’s team will look to turn things around on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings after being dominated by the Phoenix Suns last time out.

  • Antonio Brown fires shot at Malika Andrews, Richard Jefferson for doing his dance

Antonio Brown fires shot at Malika Andrews, Richard Jefferson for doing his dance

Antonio Brown took to Twitter on Friday night to publicly call out ESPN’s Malika Andrews and Richard Jefferson for starting “NBA Today” with the former NFL star’s signature dance move and not giving him credit.

Andrews, Jefferson, Danny Green and Brian Windhorst walked out doing Brown’s dance, which he invented for his “Put that S–t On” single.

From naked pictures of Gisele to divorce memes, these are AB’s posts about Tom Brady and Gisele

“I wonder who’s dance this is,” Brown tweeted. “[Richard Jefferson], [Malika Andrews] no love for AB? Y’all never hesitate to talk down on my name, ESPN.”

Brown tagged Jefferson, Andrews and ESPN, but nobody has responded as of this publication.

AB has a bad reputation, to say the least, constantly throwing shade at Tom Brady, fighting lawsuits and throwing punches at the latest big name that will throw attention his way.

But he does have a knack for making worldwide waves in culture, especially with his dance that has caught on everywhere.

Brian Windhorst gives Danny Green the business

Windhorst had another viral moment when talking about Green, who was sitting next to him, possibly getting traded from the Memphis Grizzlies.

The No. 1 seed in the Western Conference reportedly wants draft compensation, especially since the franchise has drafted incredibly well with the likes of Ja Morant and company.

Green is recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season when he formed past of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The awkward exchange between Windhorst and Green had Jefferson laughing.

I understand the business,” Green stated.
