Michigan acting HC Sherrone Morre cries while dedicating win to Jim Harbaugh

Michigan Wolverines offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, who served as acting head coach for the suspended Jim Harbaugh, led his team to a victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday at Beaver Stadium and cried during his postgame interview.

Moore, 37, had tears running down his face as he dedicated the victory to Harbaugh during an on-field interview with FOX. The offensive coordinator also pointed at the players while giving them their flowers.

Terror in the locker room tunnel: Michigan State players’ assault on Wolverines

“I want to thank Coach Harbaugh,” Moore said. “I f-king love you man. I love the s-t out of you, man. I did this for you. Did this for you. For this university, the president, our [athletic director].

“We got the best players, best university, best alumni in the country. Love you guys, these f-king guys right here. These guys did it.”

Moore replaced Harbaugh on the sideline for the second time this year as the Michigan HC served a school-imposed suspension for the team’s first three games of the season due to an unrelated NCAA recruiting violations case.

Why was Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh suspended?

Harbaugh, 59, was suspended by the Big Ten over sign-stealing allegation. The suspension will keep him away from the final three games in Michigan’s regular season.

Wolverines (10-0) improved to 4-0 in games without Harbaugh this season, even though he was still allowed in training.

Harbaugh has maintained his innocence and intends to seek legal action against the Big Ten as he prepares to win a third consecutive title in the conference and Michigan’s first national championship since 1997.

The Big Ten, meanwhile, dismissed Michigan’s claim that other programs were stealing their signs.

LeBron James pokes fun at Michigan and coach Jim Harbaugh for sign-stealing scandal

Even NBA star LeBron James is relishing the chance to tease Michigan over its college football sign-stealing scandal.

The 19-time All-Star took a light-hearted swipe at the Wolverines and coach Jim Harbaugh in the aftermath of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

James grew up in Ohio, home to Michigan’s biggest rival: Ohio State. He said the Lakers were able to decipher some of Suns coach Frank Vogel‘s signals on the sideline because the team is familiar with him. Vogel coached the Lakers when they won their 2020 title in the NBA’s Florida bubble.

“The best thing about tonight is we were able to get those signals and we’ll still be able to play on Sunday,” James said, referring to his team’s next game. “We won’t get suspended, like that team up north.”

The Big Ten Conference banned Harbaugh from coaching at Michigan’s three remaining regular-season games on Friday, escalating an extraordinary confrontation with college football’s winningest program over a sign-stealing scheme that has rocked the sport.

The discipline was announced less than 24 hours before kickoff at No. 9 Penn State. The second-ranked Wolverines (9-0) have a shot to win a third straight Big Ten title and the school’s first national championship since 1997.

  • Johnson runs for 256 yards, 4 TDs in No. 5 Washington's high-octane 52-42 win over No. 24 USC

Johnson runs for 256 yards, 4 TDs in No. 5 Washington's high-octane 52-42 win over No. 24 USC

Dillon Johnson rushed for 256 yards and four touchdowns, Michael Penix Jr. passed for 256 yards and two scores and No. 5 Washington’s prolific offense kept the Huskies unbeaten with a 52-42 victory over No. 24 Southern California on Saturday night.

Devin Culp and Ja’Lynn Polk caught TD passes from Penix, who also rushed for a score while the Huskies (9-0, 6-0 Pac-12) won a high-octane thriller featuring two elite offenses and two deficient defenses.

Johnson had the fifth-biggest rushing performance in Washington history and its first 200-yard game or four-TD game since 2017 while the Huskies racked up 572 total yards.

Caleb Williams passed for 312 yards and three touchdowns for the Trojans (7-3, 5-2), who have lost three of four to derail their championship hopes despite another prolific outing from the Heisman Trophy winner and his offense. Raleek Brown, Darwin Barlow and Williams rushed for TDs, while Tahj Washington, Brenden Rice and Mario Williams caught scoring passes in front of a sold-out Coliseum for USC’s 100th Homecoming weekend.

The offenses combined for 1,087 yards, but Washington repeatedly made bigger plays at key moments. The Huskies never trailed in the second half after Williams’ fumble deep in USC territory allowed Washington to take a 35-28 lead on Johnson’s third TD run 20 seconds before halftime.

Mario Williams caught a 20-yard TD pass from Caleb Williams to make it 42-42 late in the third quarter, but Washington’s Grady Gross made a 43-yard field goal with 12:25 to play. Caleb Williams then took a long sack that put the Trojans out of field-goal range on their next drive, and Washington marched 91 yards for Johnson’s fourth TD with 2:20 left.

USC gave up at least 40 points for the fifth time in its last six games, increasing the pressure on head coach Lincoln Riley’s longtime defensive coordinator, Alex Grinch.

USC played without Pac-12 rushing leader MarShawn Lloyd, who sat out with a previously undisclosed injury, but the Trojans are loaded with skill-position talent: While Austin Jones ran for 127 as the backfield starter, Brown scored in his first game since Week 0 and Barlow added 44 yards and a score on his first carries since Week 2.

Big, bold offensive plays happened regularly in this meeting between two longtime Pac-12 rivals heading to the Big Ten together next season.

Penix threw a spectacular 22-yard TD pass to Culp while running out of bounds in the second quarter. USC answered with a 95-yard drive capped by two electrifying runs from Barlow, but Johnson made an untouched 52-yard TD run moments later.

USC went ahead on Washington’s 41-yard TD reception off a sublime flea-flicker that almost looked improvised by freshman Zachariah Branch when he lateraled back to Williams. But after Polk’s TD catch tied it, Zion Tupuola-Fetui forced a fumble by Williams on USC’s next snap, and Johnson rushed for his third TD 20 seconds before the half.

Tupuola-Fetui, whose father died last week, was visibly emotional on the sideline after his big play.

Christian Roland-Wallace intercepted Penix’s tipped pass in the end zone on Washington’s opening drive out of halftime, and Williams led an 80-yard scoring drive capped by Rice’s 25-yard TD catch on fourth and 1. The Coliseum crowd was frenetic, but the Huskies calmly reclaimed the lead with a 75-yard drive ending in Penix’s TD sneak.

    THE TAKEAWAY

Washington: The Huskies remain unbeaten, but they’ve struggled to finish all three opponents since their victory over Oregon. They’re still not completely convincing as a College Football Playoff contender, and they’ll almost certainly find it harder to move the ball in their final three games against defenses much better than woeful USC.

USC: The Trojans’ second season under Lincoln Riley is officially a failure, and the defense deserves nearly all of the blame for not supporting a team that has scored at least 32 points in nine of its 10 games. A fan mutiny could occur if Grinch sticks around next season.

Michigan State blames 'third-party' for displaying Adolf Hitler on jumbotrons

Michigan State University blamed a “third-party source” for displaying an image of Adolf Hitler on the Spartan Stadium jumbotrons during a pregame quiz ahead of Saturday night’s clash against Michigan, which ended in a 0-49 blowout loss for the home side.

Michigan State associate athletic director Matt Larson quickly apologized for the insensitive content via a written statement. He also confirmed the school will no longer use the outide source.

“MSU is aware that inappropriate content by a third-party source was displayed on the videoboard prior to the start of tonight’s football game,” Larson wrote. “We are deeply sorry for the content that was displayed, as this is not representative of our institutional values.

“MSU will not be using the third-party source going forward and will implement stronger screening and approval procedures for all videoboard content in the future.”

    Why did MSU show Hitler?

The question was about Hitler’s birthplace, with the image showing him and “Austria” side-by-side about an hour before kickoff.

A fan snapped a photo of the jumbotron and shared it on X (Twitter), leading to the school’s apology after the image gained traction.

Fans on social media pointed out how insensitive it is to ask a question about Hitler amid the Israel war.

  • Deion Sanders is proud despite Buffaloes loss: 'You a hater if you can't see what's coming'

Deion Sanders is proud despite Buffaloes loss: 'You a hater if you can't see what's coming'

Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders showed his unique skill to succeed through empirical means on Saturday against the USC Trojans. Despite losing the game, Coach Prime saw his team was getting smashed at half time and he didn’t care about bringing some rookies and underdogs on the field. After all, this is only Deion Sanders‘ first season as the Colorado Buffaloes Football program head coach. We had previously seen Jimmy Horn come back from having a terrible game to transforming after a motivational pep talk from Coach Prime. But Sanders still had some unexpected aces under his sleeve for this game against the Trojans. That beat down the players suffered against Oregon was a look they wanted to rub off as soon as possible in front of their crowd.

Enter rookies Omarion Miller and Cormani McClain

Even though the motivational speaker was probably a poor decision, Sanders proved he can experiment on the fly and his decisions actually work. Without Travis Hunter fit to play, Sanders had to make these adjustments on the second half with a 34-14 momentary loss on the boards. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders found a new ally in Omarion Miller with some impressive interceptions that placed the Buffaloes closer to the Trojans with an entire fourth quarter still left to play. On defense, Cormani McClain was all over Trojans’ wide receiver during the second half of the game. He prevented what would’ve been the final nail on the Buffaloes’ coffin during the third quarter with a brilliant endzone defensive play.

Deion Sanders’ post game press conference warning to haters

After everything we saw from an extremely entertaining second half by the Buffaloes, everybody wanted to hear Coach Prime speak to the press. Losing by one touchdown when the team seemed beaten by the end of the second half is exactly the type of reaction Sanders was looking from his players. As expected, Coach Prime remains convinced his football program will brak all the odds and he invited haters to move over to his side. This is what he said: “If you can’t see what’s coming with CU football, you’ve lost your mind. You’re just a flat-out hater if you can’t see what’s going on and what’s going to transpire… Something’s wrong with you.”

  • Deion Sanders' son Shedeur leads Buffaloes' comeback win in 2 OTs vs. Colorado State Rams

Deion Sanders' son Shedeur leads Buffaloes' comeback win in 2 OTs vs. Colorado State Rams

Shedeur Sanders threw a TD pass to Michael Harrison in the second overtime after leading a 98-yard drive to tie the game with 36 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and No. 18 Colorado rallied to beat Colorado State 43-35 early Sunday in front of a full house packed with celebrities.

Sanders connected with Harrison for an 18-yard score and then found an open Xavier Weaver on the 2-point conversion. The Colorado defense took it from there, with Trevor Woods intercepting Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi‘s pass on fourth-and-23 to end the game at nearly 12:30 a.m. local time.

Deion Sanders speaks to team about Colorado State head coach’s commentsColorado Buffaloes

It set off a celebration as fans rushed the field for a second straight week. In the first OT, Sanders patiently waited in the pocket until Harrison flashed open for a 3-yard score. Fowler-Nicolosi followed by connecting with Tory Horton on an 8-yard score.

With 2:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, Sanders and the Buffaloes (3-0) got the ball back on the 2-yard line and trailing 28-20. He led the Buffaloes on a seven-play drive that culminated with a 45-yard TD pass to Jimmy Horn Jr. with 36 seconds left. Sanders hit Harrison for the two-point conversion.

A 23 1/2-point underdog, the Rams led most of the game. Their unraveling was 17 penalties for 182 yards, including a flag for a block below the waist that nullified a touchdown in the second overtime.

Coach Prime takes off sunglasses to greet Rams coach

Rams coach Jay Norvell added spice to the Rocky Mountain Showdown earlier in the week by taking a jab at Deion Sanders for not taking off his sunglasses and hat in interviews. After the game, Sanders and Norvell shook hands near midfield amid a sea of fans.

Sanders and the Buffaloes fed off the perceived slight all the way into the game. Shilo Sanders donned sunglasses after his 80-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Shedeur Sanders finished with 348 yards, four TDs and one interception for the Buffaloes, who won their sixth straight over the Rams (0-2). Sanders was missing receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, who was ruled out in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Colorado State put a bye week to good use by finding ways to contain Sanders and the explosive Colorado offense for most of the game. The Rams tried to spoil the party hosted by Deion Sanders, who had big-name celebrities in the house such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and rapper Lil Wayne.

Fowler-Nicolosi had 367 yards and two TDs

It was chippy at times, with Rams defensive lineman Mohamed Kamara getting a finger in the face mask from Shedeur Sanders after a play. Kamara was later disqualified in overtime for a targeting call on Sanders.

The emotions heated up early, too, with both teams gathering at midfield about an hour before kickoff and exchanging some words. Hunter left the gathering to run over to the student section and fire up the fans.

Deion Sanders has turned the Buffaloes into the talk of college football since taking over a team that went 1-11 last season.

This weekend, both ESPN‘s “College GameDay” and Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” were both on campus. Some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment turned up in Boulder, including a mini-concert performed by Lil Wayne in the end zone just before kickoff ( Deion Sanders gifted him a jersey). “The Rock” appeared on the set of GameDay and took off his jacket to reveal he was wearing Shedeur Sanders’ No. 2 jersey.

    THE TAKEAWAY

Colorado State: The Rams have lost 17 straight games to ranked teams on the road.

Colorado: The announced attendance was 53,141 in a game where tickets were going for an average purchase price is $214, according to TickPick. The Buffaloes have sold out five home games this season and are close to selling out a sixth (Arizona on Nov. 11).

Michigan players pay tribute to suspended coach Jim Harbaugh, beat East Carolina

J.J. McCarthy walked alongside his teammates in a single-file formation as each player raised an arm over their head, letting suspended Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh know his players were thinking about him.

“That was definitely a tribute to coach Harbaugh,” McCarthy said after throwing three touchdown passes to Roman Wilson to help the second-ranked Wolverines rout East Carolina 30-3 on Saturday. “That was pretty cool to do that.”

Michigan coach Harbaugh calls for criminal charges after ‘sickening’ brawl

Michigan (1-0) was without Harbaugh, who began serving a school-imposed, three-game suspension for breaking NCAA rules.

McCarthy showed up at Michigan Stadium wearing a blue shirt backward, writing “FREE” in black on white athletic tape and placing it on his chest above Harbaugh’s name. He put the shirt back on after the game.

“I just want my coach back,” McCarthy said. “It’s as simple as that.”

JJ McCarthy makes Coach Harbaugh proud

McCarthy probably made his coach proud, completing 26 of 30 passes for 280 yards and throwing a touchdown pass to Wilson in each of the first three quarters. He completed 15 straight passes in the first half, the longest streak by a Michigan quarterback since 2015, according to Sportsradar.

McCarthy said he felt much different than he did a year ago when he was coming off a shoulder injury and competing with Cade McNamara to be the team’s starting quarterback.

“This one felt effortless,” he said.

All-America running back Blake Corum, coming off knee surgery, ran for 73 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. He showed his speed is back on 37- and 21-yard runs.

“It felt great being back out there, making some cuts and some long runs,” Corum said. “That was my first time, honestly, getting hit since the Ohio State game.”

Pirates left with nothing to do

The Pirates (0-1) were overmatched as expected against a team with national championship aspirations that’s coming off two straight Big Ten titles and trips to the College Football Playoff.

Mason Garcia was 11-of-18 passing for 80 yards and had a deflected pass picked off by Mike Sainristil. Garcia shared time with Alex Flinn, who was 6 of 11 for 52 yards.

“Mason made some mistakes early,” coach Mike Houston said. “Alex played really well in the second quarter. Alex made some mistakes in the third quarter, and I was really excited about how Mason finished the ballgame.”

The Pirates avoided a shutout with Andrew Conrad‘s 33-yard field goal as time expired.

Harbaugh’s game-day roll was filled by defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore also missed the game, suspended by the school for one game due to violating unspecified NCAA rules.

JJ McCarthy on where Coach Harbaugh watched the game

McCarthy said he believed Harbaugh watched the game at Moore’s house. Harbaugh was able to coach the team during the week, and helped the staff with the game plan.

“When I saw him last night, it really really hit me that it’s really going down,” Minter said.

Michigan had its highest preseason ranking since it was also No. 2 in 1991, and likely will keep the spot in the AP Top 25.

“They look like what the preseason ranking is,” Houston said.

Michigan seemed to get a break on McCarthy’s first touchdown pass when he appeared to be past the line of scrimmage and the call on the field stood after review.

“I guess his back, right toenail was still behind the line,” Houston said.

    Takeaways and up next

ECU: The Pirates refused to say who would start at quarterback and they may not know who will take the first snap next week because both struggled.

UM: To beat top teams, the Wolverines know they have to pass more effectively than they did a year ago and they’re off to a good start toward that goal.

    ECU: Hosts Marshall on Saturday.

    UM: Hosts UNLV on Saturday.

Absolutely everybody who has followed Deion Sanders’ career as an athlete have a certain level of predilection to follow his coaching career. Since he started coaching collge players, Sanders has transformed into Coach Prime and completely revolutionize the college ball coach image. During the first half of the game, the Buffaloes were the first ones who scored a touchdown and immediately after made an interception to prevent TCU’s own touchdown. that was more than enough to get rapper Snoop Dogg thrilled.

Snoop Dogg warns the rest of NCAA about Coach Prime

Out of the many reactions to this first game from Sanders, there is no doubt that Snoop Dogg’s is the most hilarious. Although with a slight amount of truth. Even though there are many great NCAA College Football programs, having Deion Sanders as the coach is definitely a major strength for any team that is coached by him. Here’s what Snoop Dogg said in a video he posted on social media: “That mother f**ker Deion’s got players out there baby. Y’all better watch the f**k out! Prime Time Sanders coming to get your a**. Let’s go Deion! Who said you can’t? You ain’t hard to find, let’s go Prime Time! Kick that s**t on! That was gangsta cuz!”

By halftime, the Buffaloes were already winning 17-14 and increased their victory to a 24-21 momentary win with the entire second half still left to play. NCAA Football is always wild like this. No matter who ends up winning, College Football’s passion and commitment is completely unmatched. It’s going to be a long season but at least we can tell you Coach Prime can make that team play. Just hearing him speak about his own players is inspirational. But the question will only keep growing. Is Coach Prime eventually going to change his mind and coach an NFL team? Should he find success in Colorado, that could be one of the next logical steps, right?
