Rangers superfan Patrick Mahomes celebrates Adolis Garcia's walkoff HR in Game 1

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a Texas Rangers superfan and he took to X (Twitter) Friday night to celebrate Adolis Garcia hitting a walkoff home run in the 11th inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks to clinch Game 1 of the 2023 MLB World Series at Globe Life Field.

Mahomes, 28, first tweeted out what everybody was thinking after the walkoff homer: “wild!” He then retweeted a video from the official MLB account of Garcia’s game-winner.

In his “wild” tweet, Mahomes added to flexing emojis and a “World Series” hashtag, which prompts an icon of The Commissioner’s Trophy, given to the MLB champion.

Garcia’s home run completed a comeback by the Rangers, who trailed 5-3 in the ninth inning, and were able to force extra innings to steal Game 1.

Patrick Mahomes was born and raised in Texas

Mahomes was born and raised in Tyler, Texas and attended Texas Tech University. He grew up a Rangers fan and continues to support them when the Kansas City Royals aren’t in contention, as told by the QB a few days prior.

“I was a big Rangers fan when I grew up, especially those high school years when they were getting to the World Series and (lost) two of them,” Mahomes told the press. “I was able to go to some of those games, so I was a Rangers fan. I guess it’s my team if the Royals aren’t in contention.

“So I’m happy for them to get to the World Series. Shane Buechele is a big Rangers fan as well. So I texted him when they got there. So it is cool to see. And hopefully, they go out and win at all.”

Mahomes: “I just haven't played very good' amid 3-1 start to season”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes criticized his own performance four games into the season Wednesday, saying that the two-time and reigning league MVP must play better if Kansas City wants to defend its Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs are 3-1 and atop the AFC West heading into Sunday’s game in Minnesota, but their most recent win over the Jets came largely in spite of the NFL’s biggest star.

Mahomes: “I just haven’t played very good’ amid 3-1 start to season”LAPRESSE

Mahomes was just 21 of 29 for 203 yards with a touchdown pass and two badly thrown interceptions, though he did make a couple of crucial plays with his feet late in the game to secure the win.

It was the third time in four games Mahomes has failed to throw for more than 300 yards, and the only time he did was a 305-yard effort against Jacksonville, when the Chiefs offense managed just two touchdowns in slogging to a 17-9 win.

“I just haven’t played very good to start the season,” said Mahomes, who threw for a franchise-record 5,250 yards with a league-leading 41 touchdown passes last season. “I think if I start playing better everybody is going to start playing better.”

Mahomes ranks 10th in yards passing, hamstrung in part by a young group of wide receivers that have struggled to get open. His completion rate of 64.3 percent trails rookie Bryce Young and journeyman Baker Mayfield, among others, and his 21-for-39 effort in the opener against Detroit was the fourth-worst percentage of his career.

  • Brittany Mahomes swaps Sterling for Paige Buechele as her gym partner for intense 'booty' session

Brittany Mahomes swaps Sterling for Paige Buechele as her gym partner for intense 'booty' session

It looks like Sterling is no longer her mum’s gym partner! After a series of adorable Instagram stories of Brittany being accompanied by her daughter in the gym, it appears she’s been swapped out for Paige Buechele.

Mahomes posted a video of her socials today in which she and Buechele can be seen getting their sweat on, performing various leg and bum exercises. The pair did everything from squats to hip thrusts and even deadlifts in what looked like a very intense workout.

Buchele is married to Patrick Mahomes‘ former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Shane Buechele. Buechele won the Superbowl with the Chiefs last season, before being signed to the Buffalo Bills practice squad.

NFL Fantasy Football Draft cheat sheet 2023: Half PPR scoring format

Welcome to Marca’s NFL Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet 2023: 1/2 PPR Scoring edition. Our rankings have Patrick Mahomes (QB), Christian McCaffrey (RB), Ja’Marr Chase (WR), Travis Kelce (TE), Justin Tucker (K), and the San Francisco 49ers (D/ST) as the head of the NFL Fantasy Draft Class of 2023. However, pass-catching backs like Bijan Robinson get a huge boost, and he is second on the list for RBs. In .5 PPR scoring, the standings are similar to those found in full PPR, with some slight variations.

FANTASY PREP 2023 : STANDARD SCORING | PPR SCORING | 1/2 PPR SCORING | SLEEPERS | ROOKIE RANKINGS | DRAFT BUSTS | BYE WEEKS

NFL Fantasy Draft Strategy: .5 PPR Scoring

In 1/2 PPR (half-point per reception) Scoring Leagues you get .5 points for each reception, so you will need to prioritize players that tend to catch lots of passes. In this format, pass-catching running backs are going to be a priority, as well as receivers who get lots of targets (even if they tend to make short gains).

Running backs like Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey (if they stay healthy), or receivers like Keenan Allen at are going to be ranked higher than in Standard Scoring due to being more target-prone. If your league allows it, I would start two RBs every week and use your flex position on a third receiver.

Don’t avoid red-zone threats either, as they can still make a big difference in getting you that needed win. In half PPR, however, you can afford to forego pass-catchers if a strong red zone threat appears past their ADP (Average Draft Position), like Derrick Henry, for example.

UPDATE: The Indianapolis Colts have decided to not trade away Jonathan Taylor. The franchise has also kept him on the PUP list, which means Taylor cannot be activated until Week 5. This list has been updated to reflect that.

Bengals’ Joe Burrow and Joe Mixon will be taken in the first rounds of 2023 Fantasy Drafts, especially the latter.

In his preseason debut on the football field, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes received a relatively minor reprimand for his actions.

During a segment on Good Morning Football, NFL analyst Kyle Brandt shifted his stance and somewhat softened his critique, although his perspective still sounded more like a dissenting viewpoint rather than complete approval.

Brandt believed that when Mahomes chose to run, he also exposed himself to an increased risk of getting injured.

Patrick Mahomes invents the impossible pass that leaves everyone stunned: Will he try it in a game?

“It’s worth pointing out Mahomes‘ record in Week 1 is five and bleeping zero. He shows up ready,” Brandt said.

“He does not lose Week 1 games. He’s sharp. Is that a risk? Hell yes. Last week, in some ridiculous game, he was running. I’m like, ‘Pat, you’re the league, buddy. We need you. There’s no one we can afford to lose.’

“So the elephant in the room is yeah, of course there’s an injury risk, but they have a system there. It ends in Super Bowls and parades and showing up at the NFL Draft with the Lombardi Trophy.

“Go ahead. Want to play in all four quarters plus overtime? It’s your world. I’m just going to be nervous as hell.”

In the past, only a handful of teams would opt to forgo the preseason for their starting players. Nowadays, more athletes seem to skip it in order to get more rest.

  • Barbie or Oppenheimer: What movie will Mahomes and other NFL stars watch?

Barbie or Oppenheimer: What movie will Mahomes and other NFL stars watch?

Ever since it was known that two of the most anticipated movies of the summer would premiere on the same day, fans of both Barbie and Oppenheimer – films directed by Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan, respectively – ended up creating what has been dubbed “Barbenheimer,” with moviegoers eager to watch both films on the same day.

Although both films are diametrically opposed in tone and approach, the #Barbenheimer trend went viral weeks ago, and several NFL players have not been oblivious to it. In a video circulating on Twitter, various players are asked which movie they prefer to watch.

NFL stars choose between Barbie or OppenheimerTwitter

Thus, stars like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs, and Kirk Cousins from the Minnesota Vikings, answered the question. The majority of responses were in favor of Gerwig’s film, perhaps because several players have daughters whom they plan to take to watch the movie.

Both films compete at the box office.

On the one hand, Barbie is based on the world-famous doll created by Mattel, which has accompanied the childhood of several generations. On the other hand, Oppenheimer tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, known as the “father of the atomic bomb.”

Both films are vying for the box office this weekend, not only in the United States and Canada but also in various countries around the world. Initial reports indicate a significant advantage in box office revenues for Gerwig’s film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, although it should be noted that Barbie is suitable for the whole family, while Nolan’s film is for adults.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany attended a Luke Combs concert on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium. He momentarily ditched her to go shotgun a beer onstage with the country music artist.

Patrick and Brittany, both 27 years of age, are parents to a pair of children, but that does not stop them from partying. The entire offseason has been one event after another for the happy couple.

They sat in a sky-box for the concert and were accompanied by Patrick’s best friend and his wife, Shane and Paige Buechele, as seen on Brittany’s Instagram Stories.

Patrick left the sky-box to join Combs onstage, where he showed off his dance moves, sang along and shotgunned a beer.

Combs, 33, is known for drinking at least a six pack of beer during every concert, but Mahomes held his own by chugging the entire can in less than three seconds.

    Patrick Mahomes continues to celebrate

Mahomes is coming off his second Super Bowl victory and has not stopped celebrating. The Chiefs squad recently attended the White House, though that’s been the least wild part of Pat’s offseason.

He also partied with his wife and teammate Travis Kelce during the 14th annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, a Kansas City charity event.

Patrick and Brittany have also been to the Met Gala, Kentucky Derby and Miami Grand Prix in the past couple of months.

Despite all the celebration, the Mahomes family has also had a tumultuous start to the summer, especially due to Patrick’s younger brother Jackson currently being in legal trouble.
