    The British Royal Family has sent Prince Harry a public happy birthday message for the first time in three years, which hints at a potential improvement in the official relationship.

    The estranged Duke of Sussex is celebrating his 40th birthday on Sunday but the birthday wishes have not been forthcoming in recent years whilst he has been living in the United States of America with wife Meghan Markle.

    “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” the Royal Family‘s official X account posted. The post was accompanied with a picture of Harry at DogPatch Labs during his visit to Dublin, Ireland in July 2018 when he was still a working royal.

    No public statements have been made by the family about Harry’s birthday since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

    The lack of a birthday wish in the past was down to new protocols that were introduced by King Charles III when he ascended the throne. He changed it to so that posts were only about actively working members of the royal family.

    “Harry will hear from his family,” a palace source exclusively told The Post. “It’s very likely that Charles and Kate will likely phone Harry to wish him well on his birthday.”

    Harry’s birthday plans

    Rather than a public celebration or a grand event involving his family, Harry’s milestone will be marked by a private gathering at his home in Montecito, California, followed by a more adventurous getaway with close friends – notably without the presence of his wife, Meghan Markle.

    The Duke is reportedly eager to enjoy a quiet weekend in the company of his “closest mates,” away from the limelight.

    Sources indicate that the group plans to tackle the scenic Montecito peak along the Cold Spring Trail, located just a few miles from the Sussexes’ mansion.

    Since stepping back from their royal duties in 2020, Meghan and Harry have settled in California with their son, Prince Archie. Their daughter, Princess Lilibet, was born in 2021. According to a royal insider, this move has allowed the couple to create the life they always wanted.

    “It’s got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the UK and go down their own path,” the insider told PEOPLE Magazine.

    “Harry and Meghan are on the brink of losing their multi-million-dollar Netflix contract for the simple reason that Netflix expected a great deal more from the couple,” Quinn told The Mirror.

    He claimed that Harry and Meghan’s humiliating split with Spotify, in which their contract was axed early over the lack of projects, has impacted the couple and they are desperate to avoid a similar outcome with Netflix.

    “It’s always been Meghan’s dream to build a hugely successful commercial enterprise and she is still convinced – even after the Spotify debacle – that she has the drive and talent to make this happen.     It’s thought the news was taken down around December 2023, according to Newsweek, as Prince Harry continues to remain detached and estranged from his blood relatives in favor of the ex-Suits star, who is the Dutchess of Sussex.

    At the time, Prince William and King Charles (then heir to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II) were furious at his action as the British Royal Family famously has a “no comment” policy to political discussions or conversations from the media.

    And the 39-year-old, the youngest child of King Charles and Princess Diana, suggested it’s because his father and brother never protected their own wives from the jaws of the media enough…

    “My statement generated a whole new onslaught – from my family,” Prince Harry recalled in his memoir, Spare. “Pa and Willy were furious. They gave me an earful.

    “My statement made them look bad, they both said. ‘Why in hell?’ Because they’d never put out a statement for their girlfriends or wives when they were being harassed.”

    What did the statement say?

    Prince Harry is far from afraid to speak his mind, especially when it comes to protecting his wife, as he revealed lots of interesting stories about the dynamics between the pair and his family in that famous 2023 book.

    But it was rare for him to be so outspoken when he was a working member of the family and had their values and ideals to uphold, especially because he either would have had the approval of his grandmother, the Queen at the time.

    Or even bolder, he didn’t get that approval and did it anyway. So, what did he actually say?

    “The past week has seen a line crossed,” the 2016 statement read. “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.

    An official letter from Attorney General Rob Bonta states, “An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.”

    Legal problems do not stop the Sussexes

    Initially, sources indicated that Archewell had filed for an extension, but later it was discovered that a check sent with the filing had not been received. A new check has been issued, and the foundation should resume normal operations once the payment is processed.

    The couple established Archewell after relocating to the US in March 2020, following their decision to step back from their senior royal duties. The foundation includes nonprofit charitable activities as well as for-profit business divisions focusing on media production, such as Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions.

    Interest in Prince Harry’s immigration status in the United States grew after a lawsuit was brought forward by The Heritage Foundation. The conservative think tank filed a Freedom of Information Act request for Harry’s immigration papers to be made public in order to see whether he lied about his past drug use.

    “Defendant the U.S. Department of Homeland Security respectfully informs the court that it has complied with the court’s March 7, 2024, order by submitting declarations with attachments for ex parte in camera [in private] review,” reads the court filing as per Newsweek.

    The filing stated that the document was submitted via an encrypted link.

    At the beginning of the process, the Department of Homeland Security stated it couldn’t release the documents as it would be a breach of privacy.

    “Courts consistently hold that a person’s visa or immigration status is private, personal information exempt from disclosure,” they stated.

    “Specifically, the records would reveal the types of documents that Prince Harry used to travel to the United States, his admission status, and any immigration, or non-immigration, benefits that he may have sought.”

    US immigration authorities regularly ask about drug use on visa applications, though acknowledging past use does not automatically result in rejection.

    The Heritage Foundation filed a Freedom of Information request last year in order to find out whether Harry lied on his visa documents.

    “Again, Harry has publicly admitted to extensive illegal drug use,” Nile Gardiner, director of the think tank, previously stated.

    “What do we submit this means? That Harry seems to have received special treatment: the DHS looked the other way if the prince answered truthfully, or it looked the other way if the prince lied on his visa application. Either action would be wrong.”
