    How to check payments and eligibility

    To check the status of your Economic Impact Payment, you need to access your online account. The ‘Get My Payment’ page is no longer accepting applications.

    If you were eligible for a payment in 2020 or 2021 but did not receive it, all information is available through the IRS’ ‘Recovery Rebate Credit’ page.

    Claims for both years will need to be made through tax returns, and the IRS web page provides all of the different links with information for the relevant year.

    Tax refunds

    People who pay too much tax are eligible for refundable credit. If you e-file your return, you can usually see your refund status after about 48 hours with Where’s My Refund? This service can be used for the current year and the previous two years.

    Keep in mind that amended returns can take up to three weeks to update online and up to 16 weeks to process.

    The timing of refunds depends on a number of things, but it can take up to 21 days for an e-filed return, four weeks or more for amended returns and returns sent by mail and longer if your return needs corrections or extra review.

    Refunds can be made by direct deposit, paper check, prepaid debit card, mobile payment apps or U.S. Savings Bonds.

    How can you claim this payment coming in July?

    The deadline to apply for the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) is March 31 of the application year. Exceptions exist for certain circumstances, such as applicants who are disabled, filing on behalf of a deceased individual, or military personnel receiving hostile fire or imminent danger pay during the application period.

    From January 1 to March 31, you can begin the application process by visiting the official homepage and selecting “CLICK HERE TO FILE YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION.”
