Baker Mayfield trolls Tommy DeVito with perfect touchdown celebration

In a thrilling Week 12 matchup against the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield proved he still knows how to get under the skin of his opponents. With the game already under control and the Buccaneers leading by 17 points, Mayfield found himself in a sticky situation during a 2nd-and-goal play from the 10-yard line. As he scrambled, it seemed like the play might stall, but Mayfield turned it into a masterpiece.

Evading two defenders, he leaped sideways into the end zone just before fumbling the ball, securing a touchdown. But the highlight wasn’t just the play itself-it was what Mayfield did next that had everyone talking. In a perfect moment of gamesmanship, he mimicked the iconic Italian hand gesture that Tommy DeVito, the Giants‘ new quarterback, made famous during his viral moments last season.

Baker Mayfield Trolls Tommy DeVito’s TD Celebration After Scoring Against the Giants

A bold message to the Giants and DeVito

By channeling DeVito’s now-infamous gesture, Mayfield not only celebrated his stunning touchdown but also made a statement. It was clear that Mayfield was aware of the drama surrounding the Giants‘ quarterback situation. DeVito, the former backup now thrust into the spotlight, is well-known for his fiery persona and Italian hand gestures, which have become a symbol of the Giants‘ recent turmoil.

Mayfield, never one to shy away from a little trolling, used the moment to mentally strike at the Giants. As the defense faltered on the field, Mayfield’s celebration added fuel to the fire. It was a playful jab, but one that echoed loudly in a game that seemed to have already slipped away from New York.

    Mayfield’s immaturity pays off

Baker Mayfield, known for his fiery competitive spirit, might have matured over the years, but moments like these prove he’s still very much in tune with the art of trash talk. While his play was impressive, the celebration spoke volumes about his confidence and knack for entertaining both fans and critics alike.

For the Giants, this loss was compounded by the sting of Mayfield’s mental victory. With DeVito struggling in the spotlight and the Buccaneers cruising, it was clear who had the upper hand, both on the field and off it.

Baker Mayfield has once again shown that he can deliver with both his arm and his sense of humor. It’s safe to say he’s still a master at the art of the troll.

  • Tom Brady enjoys day full of sporting adventures with son Jack

Tom Brady enjoys day full of sporting adventures with son Jack

Tom Brady is very active with his kids. He has always talked about them, and he looks to spend as much time as he can with them and this time, it was with one that he had a blast while playing sports and creating more adventures.

Brady and his kids went on a Memorial Day weekend trip and many pictures posted on Saturday show Tom and his son Jack playing basketball and surfing, having a great time. Jack is the first son of the multi-Super Bowl winning quarterback.

Jack comes from his relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan, who he dated from 2004 to 2006. She got pregnant with him shortly before they broke up, and he started dating Gisele Bndchen afterwards.

John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan was born on August 22, 2007 in Santa Monica, California. He primarily lives with his mom and stepdad Andrew Frankel in New York City, but Tom has maintained a strong presence in his life despite traveling for his career.

Jack could have a future in sports like his dad

Jack, like his father, has an interest in football, and while Tom Brady was at Tampa Bay, his son took on the role of ball boy for the Buccaneers. Like his father, he plays quarterback on the high school football team, something that the former quarterback was overjoyed about.

“He’s an amazing young man. Straight As. Handles himself so well in groups of people and I see him and he’s 16, and I’m like how are you so mature. He lives in New York City, puts his heart and soul into everything he does. I mean he just, he blows me away with who he is,” Tom said about his son Jack.

“You get better as a parent because you know when you’re a young parent, you don’t really know what you’re doing. You’re winging it… You’re trying new things for the first time, so you don’t exactly know always the right thing to say.”

In a game full of NFC playoff implications, Baker Mayfield’s extraordinary performance led the Bucs to a decisive 34-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The quarterback’s precision and skill were on full display as he completed 22 of 28 passes for an impressive 381 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing why he is a pivotal force for the Buccaneers.

Mayfield and the Bucs deliver unstoppable performance

While Mayfield orchestrated the offensive symphony, receiver Chris Godwin emerged as his favorite target.

Godwin’s exceptional performance, amassing 10 catches for 155 yards, played a crucial role in the Bucs’ victory.

The chemistry between Mayfield and Godwin unfolded with remarkable precision, opening up opportunities for other key players in the lineup.

Tampa Bay’s victory was not solely a result of offensive brilliance.

The Buccaneers demonstrated near-perfect balance with 28 passes and 27 runs, dictating the tempo of the game.

  • Baker Mayfield speaks after humiliating loss to Lions: 'I sucked today'

Baker Mayfield speaks after humiliating loss to Lions: 'I sucked today'

Leading the Buccaneers, quarterback Baker Mayfield had a particularly challenging day on the field against the impressive Detroit Lions. Completing only 19 out of 37 attempted passes, he managed 206 yards but threw a costly interception. Such performance numbers were noticeably low for the QB, who has proven to be a pivotal asset for Tampa Bay this season.

In a candid post-game interaction, Mayfield expressed his disappointment. “I sucked today. We sucked today,” he said, echoing the feelings of many fans who were expecting a more energetic performance. Mayfield‘s comments highlight the team’s collective inability to establish dominance at any point during the game, stating, “It was awful from the get-go. Can’t play like that. We didn’t start fast. We didn’t pick it up in the middle and we didn’t finish strong.”

The Bucs couldn’t produce any sort of offense

A closer look at the stats further shows the Buccaneers‘ offensive struggles. The team only managed to secure 13 first downs having only 251 total yards of offense. Adding onto that, their third-down conversion was a dismal 2-of-12.

Though the offense failed, Mayfield was quick to recognize the efforts of other units, commending the defense and the special teams for their play. However, he stressed the urgency of the situation, saying, “We just need to pick our sh*t up. It’s really no other way around it.” He further applauded the play of the Lions, emphasizing that playing poorly against strong teams would always end in defeat.

Adding to the Buccaneers‘ list of concerns, Mayfield encountered a physical setback as well, suffering a contusion on his left hand. Fans held their breath upon learning of the injury, knowing the QB’s significance to the team. However, Mayfield was quick to strike down fears, assuring everyone post-game that he’s expected to recover promptly.

With Mayfield leading the charge, the Bucs will need to regroup, re-strategize, and return to the field to bounce back against the Falcons next week.

Man United fans send message to Glazers with banner flown over their NFL stadium

Manchester United fans made their feelings towards the Glazer family known after flying a plane over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium.

The American moguls also run the NFL franchisee and were in action on home soil as they took on the Philadelphia Eagles at the Raymond James Stadium.

The Buccaneers were beaten 25-10 in the NFC Division clash, but that was the least of the Glazer family’s problems.

Footage showed a plane flying over the stadium in Tampa Bay with “#GlazersOut” printed on a banner.

Man United supporters are less than happy with the owners of their club as uncertainty over the future of the team looms large.

The club had been put up for sale in 2022 by the Glazers, with big-money interest from two major parties.

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Al Thani and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe both submitted bids worth around £5billion for full control of the club, but failed to hear a definitive response.

But now plans to sell the club are in huge doubt, much to fans’ frustrations.

According to the Daily Mail, the American moguls will try and sell the club again in 2025 when they hope ‘financial and ‘environmental factors may attract more bidders’.

Fans will be hoping that their protests could be enough to force the Glazers into a sale, but based on the evidence so far, that might be a tad ambitious.

  • Where did LaMarcus Aldridge go? What is he doing now?

Where did LaMarcus Aldridge go? What is he doing now?

Former NBA player LaMarcus Aldridge had a successful 16-year career, during which he was selected as an All-Star seven times.

Aldridge spent nine seasons playing for the Portland Trail Blazers before joining the San Antonio Spurs in 2015. In March 2021, the Spurs released him, and he subsequently signed with the Brooklyn Nets. However, he retired two weeks later due to an irregular heartbeat.

However, after receiving medical clearance, Aldridge returned to play for the Nets in the following season, averaging 12.9 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in 47 games.

Around a month ago, LaMarcus Aldridge worked out with the Dallas Mavericks in the hope of finding an NBA team and impressing suitors. However, on Friday, he announced his retirement. It is unclear whether he is looking to step into management or will take a break to be with his family. For the time being, the 37-year-old can be expected to step back from the public eye.

LaMarcus Aldridge retires after 16 years in the NBA

A free agent, Aldridge initially hoped to join a team this year. Still, as the playoffs approached, he ended up deciding to step away from the sport. Aldridge enjoyed a successful career which saw him score over 20,000 points in the NBA.

The player was drafted as the No. 2 pick in 2006 and follows in the footsteps of NFL star Tom Brady, who also retired twice. LaMarcus Aldridge ended up referencing the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers forward in his retirement announcement on Twitter as well:

“In the words of TB12, you only get one big, emotional retirement… so, on that note…I’m thankful for all the memories, family and friends I made throughout my career. It was one hell of a ride and I enjoyed every min!”

Aldridge was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a condition that can cause a rapid heartbeat, during his rookie season in 2007. Although he was reported to be feeling better after announcing his return, he had said that his health and family were the reasons he was retiring. Fans can expect that the same is true this time around.

In the words of TB12, you only get one big, emotional retirement… so, on that note…I’m thankful for all the memories, family and friends I made throughout my career. It was one hell of a ride and I enjoyed every min! 12

Regardless, the player may have some regrets about not winning an NBA title even once. Still, Aldridge will go down as one of the greatest forwards in the modern-day NBA.

  • Tom Brady shares honest take on 2023 Super Bowl controversial holding call

Tom Brady shares honest take on 2023 Super Bowl controversial holding call

Tom Brady has given his verdict on the controversial holding call that came in the last minutes of Super Bowl LVII, and he’s not a huge fan of it. It’s hard to swallow a flag potentially robbing the Philadelphia Eagles of a chance to tie the game, but that could be what happened.

Brady discussed the penalty on the “Let’s Go!” podcast:

“It’s always, I think, easier not to call it. The hard one is when you do call it because there’s a lot of scrutiny with that call.”

    He continued:

“And I think the point is, at least from a receiver DB standpoint, you know, if you’re not going to come from, you know, let’s say within the letter of the law, and you’re going to tug it on, you can impede the receiver from where he wants to go and create an almost impossible throwing catch by the quarterback.”

    youtube-cover

    He finished, saying:

“And at the same time on the other side of the ball. If the receiver pushes off, there’s really nothing that DB can do in order to make the play. So it’s such a hard situation because you don’t know how the game is being called all day long.”

Eagles cornerback James Bradberry admitted that he held Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster’s jersey. However, he had hoped the officials wouldn’t call it.

Brady seems to be in the same line of thinking that the refs might have considered swallowing the whistle. Nevertheless, it was a penalty.

What penalty is Tom Brady referring to?

Tom Brady was referring to the controversial holding call in the final two minutes of the Super Bowl. Due to the call, the Chiefs received a fresh set of downs and whittled the clock away.

It was a third down near the red zone and the Eagles had one timeout remaining. Patrick Mahomes tossed a pass towards the end zone for Smith-Schuster, who was running a wheel route.

Bradberry had held him at the beginning of his route, which may have prevented him from getting to the ball. The penalty was called, which made it first down. The Chiefs ran the clock out and kicked the field goal to win the Super Bowl.

  • Travis Kelce vs Rob Gronkowski front and center as Chiefs TE races past Patriots legend in postseason TD tally

Travis Kelce vs Rob Gronkowski front and center as Chiefs TE races past Patriots legend in postseason TD tally

The start of the Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs was fast, as both teams scored quick touchdowns on their opening drives. But for the Chiefs, who had the second possession, there was history to be made.

Tight end Travis Kelce, who caught Patrick Mahomes’ touchdown pass, surpassed Rob Gronkowski as the tight end with the most receiving touchdowns in the playoffs. The Super Bowl catch was his 16th touchdown.

Super Bowl LVII is Kelce’s 18th playoff game. Since the 2015 season, he has been in the playoffs every year. This was also his fourth touchdown in the 2022-23 postseason.

Gronkowski needed many more games than Kelce to get to 15 playoff touchdowns. The legendary tight end, who played in the league from 2010 to 2021, was part of 26 playoff games throughout his career with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, always alongside Tom Brady.

Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce have a great relationship

Although Gronkowski and Kelce are competitors for the title of greatest tight end of all time, the two legends have a great relationship and share a ton of respect for each other.

Gronkowski was handling media duties during Super Bowl LVII and spoke about how he feels being compared to a great player like Kelce.

“I think they’re great,” Gronkowski told Phil Perry from NBC Sports. “We’re both No. 87 as well. I love Travis. I know Travis, he’s a lot of fun, he’s got a great personality and he’s always loose. What’s so amazing about his game is that he’s so loose. But the comparisons are great.

“He’s doing such a great job. I have so much respect for him. So just to hear the comparisons all the time of everything that’s being said, I think it’s great for the game of football. I think it’s great for the tight end position as well.

Gronk is a four-time Super Bowl champion and four-time First-Team All-Pro. Kelce has only one ring, but was voted as an All-Pro seven times.
