Micah Parsons claps back at podcast haters: 'Why the double standard?'

Micah Parsons has made a name for himself as one of the most dominant defenders in the NFL. With 52.5 sacks in just four seasons, the Dallas Cowboys linebacker is already on a Hall of Fame trajectory. But while his play on the field is nearly undisputed, his presence off the field has sparked plenty of debate-especially when it comes to his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons.

The weekly show, hosted through Bleacher Report and boasting 4.5 million YouTube subscribers, has made Parsons one of the most visible personalities in the NFL. He’s far from the only active athlete running a podcast-names like Travis Kelce, Maxx Crosby, and even NBA stars like Draymond Green and Jalen Brunson do the same. But somehow, Parsons keeps catching heat for it.

He would leave! Micah Parsons admits that he would not be part of the Dallas Cowboys if this happens

That criticism ramped up again this week when two NFL legends-Lawrence Taylor and DeMarcus Ware-suggested that Parsons should spend less time talking and more time focusing on football. Taylor, widely regarded as the greatest pass rusher of all time, didn’t hold back: “He’s a great player. But guys, let’s do more. Let’s play more football and less podcasts.”

Ware, a Cowboys great himself, took a more direct approach. In an interview with Fox Sports, he said that if he were on the Cowboys’ coaching staff, Parsons’ podcasting days-at least during the season-would be numbered.“He probably won’t be doing it during the season, I know he won’t be. Because he’ll be too focused on getting to the quarterback and just wreaking havoc in the backfield.”

Parsons fires back: ‘Why is my podcast a problem?’

Parsons didn’t let the criticism slide. In an X post Thursday, he fired back: “Lol i wonder do people hate my podcast because it’s actually good or do people hate it because it’s bad?? Because hella people in the NBA and NFL have podcasts and no one has a problem.”

This isn’t the first time Parsons has drawn criticism for speaking out. Back in November, he took issue with head coach Mike McCarthy after a blowout loss to the Eagles, a move that drew harsh words from ESPN analysts Rex Ryan and Damien Woody. Ryan called Parsons’ comments“total BS,” while Woody sarcastically referred to him as “podcast boy” and questioned whether he had lost respect in the locker room.

The debate over Parsons’ podcast isn’t just about media appearances-it’s happening as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. With the Cowboys expected to negotiate a lucrative extension, questions are swirling about whether his off-field presence could impact his future in Dallas. Some analysts believe Jerry Jones and the Cowboys front office won’t care as long as Parsons continues to dominate on Sundays. Others wonder if there’s a growing tension over how he balances football with his expanding media brand.

For now, Parsons doesn’t seem interested in backing down. Whether that becomes a problem for the Cowboys-or just more noise for him to tune out-remains to be seen.

  • Peyton Manning advises Travis Kelce on rumors of possible retirement from Chiefs and NFL

Peyton Manning advises Travis Kelce on rumors of possible retirement from Chiefs and NFL

Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning gave some advice to Travis Kelce amid rumors that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is considering retirement.

Peyton Manning made a notable appearance during Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday, jokingly imploring the show’s creator Lorne Michaels not to retire. According to an interview he gave while in New York for the momentous show, his words may have had a second target as well: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Heartbreaker moment! Jason Kelce’s daughter tells him a truth he didn’t want to hear about Uncle Travis Kelce

Manning hopes Kelce doesn’t make a hasty decision

Manning told E! News that he hopes Kelce takes the time he needs to make a decision about his future, but selfishly hopes the future Hall of Famer returns for one more season.

“I hope he takes some time and doesn’t make a hasty decision,” Manning said. “So the last thing you want to do is say, ‘Okay, I’m going to make a decision now. Take some time. Take a full month. Let some things digest and calm down. Then he will be able to make a better decision.”

“I hope he comes back and plays. It’s fun to watch him, but he has to do what’s best for him.

    Trajectory and results matter

Kelce’s Chiefs were crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, ending the franchise’s hopes of a first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. Manning, on the other hand, was able to retire in 2016 after winning it all, when his Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

It was an ideal opportunity for Manning to ride off into the sunset. The 2015 season was one of the worst of his career on an individual level, but a solid Broncos defense helped him come out on top.

Kansas City is reportedly expecting a decision on Kelce “around March 14,” just days after the start of the new league year. The tight end is owed $11.5 million if he is on the Chiefs’ roster on March 15.

  • Miles Teller paused his friendship with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce over the Super Bowl: 'My mom could've been on the field…'

Miles Teller paused his friendship with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce over the Super Bowl: 'My mom could've been on the field…'

Miles Teller may be a good friend of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, but there was no way the diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan was going to put his fandom to the side on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Top Gun: Maverick star and wife Keleigh Sperry Teller have become good friends of Swift and Kelce over the years.

However, when it comes to football, Teller is and always will be an Eagles fan, which is why he was fully behind his team at Super Bowl LIX on February 9.

“I think it was pretty clear in that situation as a diehard Eagles fan, I didn’t have mixed feelings about it,” Teller told E! News. “It didn’t matter who they were playing.

“My mom could’ve been on the field [instead of] the Chiefs and I would’ve been like, ‘Go Birds.’”

In the end Teller was the one celebrating, along with the rest of Eagles nation, as Philadelphia cruised to a dominant 40-22 victory in New Orleans.

Jason Kelce also had to pick a side for the Super Bowl

While Teller had no problems sticking with his allegiance to the Eagles at the Super Bowl, the decision wasn’t as clear for Jason Kelce and wife Kylie.

With brother Travis lining up for the Chiefs against the team he called home for 13 seasons, Jason talked about his mixed emotions regarding the game in a post on X.

“I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago,” Jason wrote, referring to the 2023 Super Bowl when he and Travis faced one another.

“On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.”

While Jason was happy to see Philadelphia come out on top, he also made it clear his brother wouldn’t want his pity after coming up short.

“There isn’t a person I love or care about more,” Jason added. “It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity.

“He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past. Go Birds.”

  • Is Taylor Swift the reason behind Travis Kelce's possible retirement?

Is Taylor Swift the reason behind Travis Kelce's possible retirement?

Kansas City Chiefstight endTravis Kelce has a big decision ahead of him: Will he return for another season, or is it time to walk away from the game? After a disappointing Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and a statistically underwhelming year, retirement is a real possibility. And with a thriving off-the-field life-including a relationship withTaylor Swiftand a successful podcast with his brother, Jason-there’s plenty pulling him in a new direction.

At 35, Kelce has done it all. Multiple Super Bowl rings, an All-Pro career, and a reputation as one of the best tight ends in NFL history. But the grind of another season, from training camp to the weekly toll on his body, is no small ask. Some believe he might be ready to step away, while others wonder if one factor-his relationship with Swift-could play a role in keeping him on the field.

Did Taylor Swift just hint she is ready to marry Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl?

According to PEOPLE, Swift genuinely enjoys watching Kelce play.“She truly loves watching Travis do his thing on the football field,” a source said. Could that be enough to push him toward another year? Some fans think so. Others believe that with Swift’s relentless tour schedule and Kelce’s potential media career ahead, retirement makes even more sense.

Meanwhile, sports analysts are weighing in. Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd suggested that a “clean break” between Kelce and the Chiefs might be the best move. It’s not just about Kelce’s age-Kansas City has cap space issues, and the team is already planning for the future. If the Chiefs are ready to move on, maybe Kelce should be too.

One more season or a fresh start?

That said, Kelce isn’t rushing his decision. After the Super Bowl, he made it clear he’s taking his time. “I’m not making any crazy decisions,” he told reporters, emphasizing that he’ll reflect before choosing his next step. That leaves the door open for a return-but also for a graceful exit.

Kelce’s passion for the game is undeniable, but so is his growing list of opportunities beyond football. Whether it’s expanding his podcast, getting into broadcasting, or simply spending more time with Swift, he has options. Retirement wouldn’t be the end of his spotlight-it might just be the beginning of a new one.

So what’s next? Another season of Chiefs football, or a different kind of adventure? Either way, Kelce’s decision will be one of the biggest NFL storylines of 2025.

  • Are Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift breaking up? Fans have a 'Wizard of Oz' theory that could signal the end of their relationship

Are Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift breaking up? Fans have a 'Wizard of Oz' theory that could signal the end of their relationship

Taylor Swift‘s quick departure from New Orleans after the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Super Bowl defeat has sent her devoted fanbase, the Swifties, into a frenzy of speculation. The pop icon, who attended the game to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, faced an onslaught of booing during the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss.

On Monday evening, Swift was spotted making a discreet exit from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Shielded by a team of people holding umbrellas, she boarded her private jet in an effort to avoid being photographed. However, one detail didn’t escape the eagle-eyed fans: her ruby red loafers.

Cause trouble! Taylor Swift’s involvement causes conflict between the Kelce’s and their work team

The footwear immediately sparked a wave of theories among her followers. Many linked the shoes to the iconic Ruby Red Slippers from The Wizard of Oz, interpreting them as a potential Easter egg tied to her music.

One TikTok user speculated that Swift’s choice of shoes might signal the end of an era, saying, “The fact that after the Super Bowl, the last game of the season, we see Taylor leaving in her Ruby Red Slippers… the show is over. We’re waking up from the dream.” The user also noted that this could be a metaphorical nod to Dorothy’s journey in The Wizard of Oz, suggesting Swift might be closing one chapter and preparing for another.

What Taylor’s shoes could really mean

Others took a more personal angle, theorizing that the ruby slippers were a subtle hint about her relationship with Kelce. Some fans speculated that the shoes referenced Dorothy’s famous line, “We’re not in Kansas anymore,” with Kansas serving as a stand-in for Kansas City. One fan commented, “She woke up from her dream of love and is going home,” implying a possible breakup. Another added, “She really said there’s no place like home-get me outta here.”

However, not everyone was convinced that Swift and Kelce’s romance had hit a rough patch. Some argued that the slippers might symbolize the opposite: that Kansas, where Kelce resides, now feels like home to Swift. “I mean, ‘there’s no place like home,’ and Dorothy’s home is in Kansas, which is also where Travis lives. Is she not saying home is where Travis is?” one fan questioned.

Meanwhile, others dismissed relationship-related theories altogether and suggested that Swift’s choice was purely professional. Known for her meticulous planning and penchant for leaving clues, fans speculated this could be a teaser for an upcoming project. Swift’s history of referencing The Wizard of Oz and her recent Instagram posts featuring a “Yellow Brick Road” theme only added fuel to these theories.

  • Swifties review-bomb C.J. Gardner-Johnson's mother's restaurant after dig at Taylor Swift

Swifties review-bomb C.J. Gardner-Johnson's mother's restaurant after dig at Taylor Swift

C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s post-Super Bowl taunts have drawn the ire of Taylor Swift’s passionate fanbase.

Unfortunately for his family, it’s his mother’s business that has faced the backlash.

For the playbook! Taylor Swift’s is fully living her football era

Social media roast turns into a Yelp nightmare

Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ dominant 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, the cornerback took to Instagram to mock Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

He posted a photo of himself facing off against Kelce during the game, captioned: “Should have stayed with that thick s-.”

The remark appeared to be a dig at Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift, suggesting he shouldn’t have moved on from his ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.

The comment did not sit well with Swifties, who quickly retaliated by review-bombing King’s Grill, the Florida restaurant owned by Gardner-Johnson’s mother, Delatron Johnson.

The influx of negative reviews led Yelp to place a warning label on the restaurant’s page, stating: “This business is being monitored by Yelp’s Support team for content related to media reports.”

Google also took action, reportedly removing a wave of recent reviews.

However, the attacks may have been futile, King’s Grill has been closed since late January.

Gardner-Johnson’s parents, Brian and Del, addressed the situation on TMZ Live, making it clear that the online backlash wasn’t affecting them.

“We’re good,” Del said confidently, revealing that they had already moved on to a new restaurant in Cocoa, Florida, called Village Bier Garten.

Despite the controversy, Gardner-Johnson has not publicly responded to the situation.

Meanwhile, Swift supported Kelce from a private suite at the Caesars Superdome, though the couple was not photographed together after the Chiefs’ hopes of a three-peat were crushed.

Kelce has remained out of the spotlight following the loss, fueling speculation about his future in the NFL.

As he weighs potential retirement after 12 seasons in Kansas City, Gardner-Johnson and the Eagles are celebrating their championship win, with a parade set for Friday in Philadelphia.

  • Travis Kelce's retirement deadline set: Here's when he must decide if he returns to the Chiefs

Travis Kelce's retirement deadline set: Here's when he must decide if he returns to the Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is facing a pivotal offseason decision following a disappointing Super Bowl LIX performance.

After a crushing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, speculation about the 34-year-old’s future has intensified, with many wondering whether he’ll return for a 13th NFL season or call it a career.

Travis Kelce opens up on Chiefs’ Super Bowl defeat against Eagles

Mahomes reveals feelings on Travis Kelce’s retirement

Kelce had reportedly been considering retirement before the Chiefs’ Super Bowl run, but he made it clear during Super Bowl week that he wasn’t planning to walk away just yet.

However, with the offseason now in full swing, a looming financial deadline could force him to make up his mind sooner rather than later.

According to Over the Cap’s contract triggers calendar, Kelce is due an $11.5 million roster bonus, plus an additional $1 million in incentives.

With a base salary of $4.5 million, the Chiefs will need to decide whether they’re willing to pay that price to keep him for another season.

The key date? March 15-the third day of the 2025 NFL league year.

If Kelce chooses to retire before then, Kansas City could avoid a hefty financial commitment, making his decision time-sensitive.

Whatever Kelce decides, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made it clear he won’t pressure his longtime teammate into a return.

“I’ll let Travis make that decision on his own, man,”Mahomes said after the Super Bowl.

“He’s given so much to this team and to the NFL and been such a joy, not only for me to work with, but for people to watch.”

Kelce’s 2024 season wasn’t as dominant as years past.

He posted 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns-his lowest full-season yardage total since 2014.

However, he remained a crucial part of the Chiefs’ offense during their playoff push, tallying 13 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown before struggling in the Super Bowl with just four receptions for 39 yards.

Despite his statistical dip, Mahomes believes Kelce still has plenty left in the tank.

“He knows he still has a lot of football left in him,”Mahomes said.

“You can see it. He always makes plays in the biggest moments. But it’s if he wants to put in that grind because it’s a grind to go out there and play 20 games, whatever it is, and get to the Super Bowl. He’s done enough to be a gold-jacket guy and first-ballot Hall of Famer.”

Mahomes also emphasized that Kelce has earned the right to take his time with his decision.

“I know he still has love for the game, and he’ll get to spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own,” he said.

“But he knows he’ll come back here with welcome arms. We love that guy not only for the football player, but the person that he is every single day.”

With March 15 approaching, all eyes are on Kelce as he weighs his options.

Will he chase another championship with Mahomes, or will he hang up his cleats and cement his Hall of Fame legacy?

    The clock is ticking.

  • Kayla Nicole takes revenge on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce rubbing in her happiness over the Chiefs' defeat

Kayla Nicole takes revenge on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce rubbing in her happiness over the Chiefs' defeat

Revenge is a dish best served cold… and if it’s on the Super Bowl stage, even better. Just ask Kansas City Chiefs iconic tight end Travis Kelce ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole, who was loving every minute of Super Bowl LIX played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The game was a total beat down courtesy of the spectacular Philadelphia Eagles, who played an outstanding game on both sides of the field and showed the whole world that they were ready to avenge the hurtful loss they experienced during Super Bowl LVII, when the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35 in a spectacular match.

She gets revenge! Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole enjoys the Chiefs beatdown at Super Bowl LIX

This time things were different as the team coached by Nick Sirianni put on a defensive show that destroyed Patrick Mahomes‘ ability to be a game changer and display his skills and talent to take the Chiefs to the promised land. The final score was 40-22.

Kayla Nicole’s sweet revenge in the Super Bowl

Kayla Nicole was in attendance for Super Bowl LIX and she sure was rooting for quarterback Jalen Hurts, superstar running back Saquon Barkley, wide receiver A.J. Brown and the rest of the very powerful Philadelphia Eagles. Nicole posted a couple of Instagram stories with the Eagles fans, who were excited to see their team dominate the then defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs.

During the game, the TV cameras showed a frustrated Travis Kelce, who couldn’t bear the fact that he was not a factor at all and couldn’t do anything to prevent his team from getting beat. Kelce finished with four receptions for 39 yards and zero touchdowns. It was a terrible game for who’s considered one of the best tight ends in NFL’s history.

As if that was not enough for Kelce, his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, did not have a much better Super Bowl LIX, even if she’s not a football player. The global music superstar got a massive boo from the fans at Caesars Superdome and she looked shocked and in quite a disbelief of the hate she received from the majority of the people in attendance.

The Chiefs’ defeat could be even more hurtful for Kelce as he hasn’t made up his mind about whether or not he’ll play in 2025. It is, in fact, possible that Super Bowl LIX on Sunday was the final game of Travis’ 12-year professional career.

Nicole is a star in sports broadcasting

Kayla Nicole is a well-respected sports broadcaster and host of I Am Athlete Daily on Revolt TV, so she wasn’t at Super Bowl LIX to stir up drama-she was there to work.

That didn’t stop social media from raising eyebrows when she was spotted interviewing Deion Sanders and his son, Shedeur, an NFL Draft hopeful during NFL Honors. As if interviewing “Coach Prime” wasn’t headline-worthy enough, fans couldn’t help but analyze her interactions with the Hall of Famer.

But let’s be clear: Kayla Nicole isn’t just some ex riding the media wave. She’s a seasoned journalist with a degree from Pepperdine, a growing media career, and plenty of football knowledge to back it up. When asked who she’s picking to win the Super Bowl, she didn’t hesitate.

“I think Patrick Mahomes is going to seal the deal,” she told People Magazine. “The guy knows what he’s doing, and I would bet the Chiefs take this.” It’s fair to say that Nicole was way off on her prediction, as many who thought Kansas City was going to be the first team in NFL’s history to win three Super Bowls in a row.

  • Taylor Swift dominates the Super Bowl with her lavish $2 million suite and gourmet menu

Taylor Swift dominates the Super Bowl with her lavish $2 million suite and gourmet menu

The wait is over – Super Bowl LIX is finally here. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will square off at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with history on the line. Kansas City has dominated the NFL in recent years, reaching their fifth Super Bowl in six seasons and now looking to become the first team to complete a three-peat. Meanwhile, the Eagles, looking to avenge their heartbreaking 38-35 loss in Super Bowl 57, are hoping to spoil the Chiefs’ dynasty aspirations. One key player to watch is Travis Kelce, who is expected to have a heavy workload after an underwhelming performance in the AFC Championship Game.

Beyond the game itself, Kelce’s future is a hot topic. At 35 years old, he’s coming off his least productive season since his rookie year, leading to speculation about how much longer he’ll play. Adding fuel to the fire, his highly publicized relationship with Taylor Swift has sparked rumors of a possible post-game proposal if the Chiefs secure the win. While it’s pure speculation, the idea of a historic three-peat followed by an engagement could make this Super Bowl one of the most talked about events in sports history.

Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl Experience Steals the Spotlight

While the battle on the field will be intense, Taylor Swift’s extravagant Super Bowl setup off the field is generating just as much buzz. The pop icon has secured a $2 million luxury suite at the Caesars Superdome to watch the game and support Kelce. The suite, reportedly a gift from Kelce himself, features top-of-the-line amenities to ensure a lavish game-day experience. Each seat will include a Chiefs-themed towel to create a striking sea of red in the stadium, adding to the spectacle. In addition to Kelce’s family members, Taylor is sure to invite a few more celebrities like last year and Brittany Mahomes will also be on hand to support Pat, who could get his fourth Super Bowl MVP before the age of 30.

This suite will undoubtedly get the most attention. In fact, one of the most popular bets since the last Super Bowl has been “how many times will Taylor appear on the telecast”. The line is now at 6.5 and I would go with the over because I feel it will be an offensive game and Kelce will be a factor because, as you know, if Kelce does anything, literally even set his hair, the cameras will go with Taylor.

Super Bowl suites are the ultimate status symbol, with prices ranging from $500,000 to a staggering $3 million. Located near midfield, these high-end spaces offer an unparalleled experience, including gourmet catering featuring local New Orleans favorites like gumbo, ribs and shrimp. The VIP experience extends beyond game day with private jet service, exclusive pre-game parties and even alligator swamp tours. Last year, Kelce himself reportedly spent up to $3 million on a suite at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, a testament to how exclusive these spots are.

Will Kelce Propose If the Chiefs Win?

The idea of a Kelce-Swift engagement right after the game is intriguing, but it raises an interesting debate. The Super Bowl is the culmination of a team’s efforts – would using it as a personal milestone overshadow the accomplishments of his teammates? While the story is intriguing, I have my doubts. Meanwhile, on the betting front, the Eagles enter the game as slight underdogs (+1). Historically, underdogs have won outright and covered the spread in six of the last ten Super Bowls. In fact, underdogs have won ten of the last fifteen championship games. If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s to expect the unexpected – on and off the field.

Travis Kelce subtly responds to critics after his pre-Super Bowl date with Taylor Swift: Don't peak too soon!

Travis Kelce may have offered a subtle response to those who criticized him for going to dinner with Taylor Swift ahead of the Super Bowl.

There was a swathe of interest in the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on Saturday after he had been spotted out for dinner in New Orleans with his pop star girlfriend, despite it being more common for players to stay in their hotel in the 38 hours before the Super Bowl.

Fans were quick to suggest that Kelce may not have his head in the right place and he could be enjoying the occasion a little too much.

In response, Kelce has now shared a video on Instragram of himself playing and celebrating throughout the season, with the caption reading: “Don’t peak too soon!”

    Fans not impressed

Many fans had been on Kelce’s back over the date at a French restaurant with Swift.

One commenter said Kelce looked “unfocused,” while another wrote, “Bad look. Kelce supposed to be locked in and watching film. I’m sure that could have waited.”

A third person added: “Normally the players do not go out the week before they are playing in the Super Bowl because of how seriously they take the game, or so I’m told. Even saw an old clip of that Kelce guy saying that.”

Last year ahead of the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Kelce talked about how important it was for him to stay focused and lay low in his hotel in the days leading up to the big game.

“We’ve got one week, we do what we need to do then we can party in Vegas for the rest of our lives,” Kelce said.

If the Chiefs win on Sunday then all will be forgotten, but fans have been given ammunition against Kelce and Swift if things go wrong.
