    Caitlin Clark “dunks” with Tyrese Haliburton's assist for a good cause

    Whether on or off the court, Caitlin Clark has proven to be a master in the art of the dunk. If you don’t believe it, ask Tyrese Haliburton, who recently gave the Indiana Fever guard an “assist” that the WNBA star turned into a heartfelt score.

    If there is one thing that has distinguished Clark in her rising career, apart from her talent, it is her heart of gold. Whether donating winter clothing for underprivileged youth or using her platform to collect donations for all kinds of worthy causes, Clark never stops helping.

    Maybe, the top example of the Fever star’s altruism is the Caitlin Clark Foundation, through which she aims to improve the lives of young people from disadvantaged communities. With that background, it’s no surprise that the former Iowa Hawkeye responded to Haliburton’s call to help those in need.

    Clark and Haliburton united for a great cause

    On Monday night, the Indiana Pacers hosted the “Come to Our House Season of Giving Dinner” for the 27th consecutive year at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to distribute hot meals to homeless people in Indianapolis.

    Haliburtonhas hosted the charity event since he was traded to the Pacers in 2022 and this year he invited Clark, Lexie Hull, and Karima Christmas-Kelly, guard and assistant coach of the Fever, respectively.

    The three WNBA stars put on an apron with Haliburton to serve food to 700 homeless people invited to the dinner. In a video posted on the Fever’s Twitter account, you can see Clark handing a plate of food to one of the guests, amid applause from team officials.

    Clark is always willing to help

    This is not the first time that Clark has collaborated with the Pacers to support a good cause. A few weeks ago, she and her boyfriend, Connor McCaffrey, attended the Golden Gala, the annual event through which the NBA team raises funds for various social causes.

    While she awaits the start of the 2025 WNBA season next May, Clark is making the most of her offseason, not only to rest but to support those who need it most.

    Caitlin Clark does it again, she has made an impact on another NBA star who enjoyed her most recent performance with the Indiana Fever. The Rookie is currently at the forefront of the Rookie of the Year award race but she does have Angel Reese close to her. On Friday, she faced the Phoenix Mercury and put on a real show as another Indiana staple player attended the game. Olympic Champion Tyrese Haliburton was there to enjoy the game and he eevn praised her right after with a nice tweet that let people know he was impressed with No. 22. In fact, Caitlin Clark did have one of her best starts of the season and she ended it by making absolute WNBA history. This game alone could easily get her the Rookie of the Year Award.

    This Caitlin Clark performance is the classic response from a prodigy star who was just snubed to play the Olympic Games and wanted to issue a statement in front of an NBA Olympic Champion. By the end of the game, Clark already had 29 points, 10 assists, and 5 rebounds for the Indiana Fever’s 98-89 victory over phoenix Mercury. There was a video of Tyrese Haliburton talking to Clark after the game. He also wrote a tweet that made it clear he was extremely impressed. Here is what he wrote: “Hope y’all seeing what 22 doin at Gainbridge.”

    The reason we are saying Caitlin Clark is the Rookie of the Yar frontruner is very simple, she has finished 9 consecutiev games with 20+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists. That is the second most in a single season eevr, those are definitely not rookie numbers. We are talking about a 1st team All WNBA without question. Clark’s response to being snubbed for the Olympic Games was not something she enjoyed. As a settling kind of decision, Caitlin Clark is already making people talk about including her in the All WNBA for the season and that she also wins Rookie of the Year. Haliburton approves.

    In an intense Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, theIndiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks116-103, evening the series at 3-3 and setting up a decisive Game 7 at Madison Square Garden. The victory maintained the trend of home teams winning every game in this series, with the last three being blowouts.

    The Pacers, led by strong performances from Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner, took control early and never looked back. Siakam and Turner combined for 42 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists, showcasing their dominance on both ends of the court. The Pacers out-rebounded the Knicks by 12 and outscored them in the paint, 62-38, demonstrating their physicality and intensity.

    Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard also made significant contributions, each scoring 15 points. Haliburton added nine assists, while Nembhard chipped in with six rebounds and six assists. The Pacers’ balanced attack and relentless energy proved too much for the injury-riddled Knicks.

    New York’s Jalen Brunson led all scorers with 31 points, rebounding from a shaky start to keep his team in the game. Miles McBride added 20 points, and Donte DiVincenzo contributed 17. However, the Knicks were hampered by injuries to key players, including Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, and Bojan Bogdanovic. Josh Hart, who appeared to hurt his abdominal muscle in the first quarter, played just 31 minutes and was largely ineffective.

    The Pacers established their dominance early, taking a 42-41 lead on Haliburton’s second three-pointer of the game. A 16-7 run helped Indiana build a 61-48 halftime lead, and they never trailed again. The Knicks made a push in the second half, cutting the deficit to 61-56, but consecutive threes from Nembhard and Haliburton rebuilt Indiana’s lead, and the Knicks never seriously threatened again.

    Game 7 will mark the first time since 1995 that the Knicks host a decisive playoff game at Madison Square Garden against the Pacers, who prevailed in that memorable encounter. Both teams will be under immense pressure as they vie for a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals.

    Pacers coach Rick Carlisle emphasized the need for execution and intensity, stating, “We’ve got to play harder, we’ve got to play with a greater level of execution. If you can’t come up with a ball and have level of possessions for the game, you’re not going to in the second round of the playoffs. We’ve got to do better, much better.”

    Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau echoed similar sentiments about focus and preparation, saying, “I think the most important thing is to not get lost in the hyperbole and the distractions and focus and lock into the task at hand, which is winning the game. So put the necessary work into it and don’t get lost.”

    As both teams prepare for the highly anticipated Game 7, the stakes couldn’t be higher. The Pacers will aim to continue their perfect postseason home record, while the Knicks hope to leverage their home-court advantage and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.     Pacers rally past Celtics 133-131 after Tyrese Haliburton injures hamstring

    Bennedict Mathurin scored 26 points, including the deciding free throws with 0.6 seconds remaining, and the Indiana Pacers rallied after All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered a hamstring injury to beat the Boston Celtics 133-131 on Monday night.

    Haliburton strained his left hamstring when he slipped and did the splits on a drive in the second quarter. He was carried to the locker room by two teammates. An MRI was scheduled for Tuesday.

    “That was a very deflating moment,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “(But) this was an important game. Every game that we play has the ability to be a season-defining game.”

    Mathurin was fouled by Kristaps Porzingis on a 3-pointer just before time expired. The call was reviewed and upheld. Mathurin sank the first two free throws and missed the third on purpose.

    “I was excited,” Mathurin said. “It was a pretty good thing to be a part of.”

    He finished 8 of 15 from the field, including five 3-pointers, as Indiana split a two-game home series against the top team in the Eastern Conference.

    “Really amazing effort from our team,” Carlisle said. “A lot of emotions in this game, for a lot of reasons: you’re playing the best team in basketball and Tyrese’s injury situation.”

    All-Star Jaylen Brown scored a season-high 40 points on 17-of-26 shooting for the Celtics, who were without leading scorer Jayson Tatum. The four-time All-Star sat out to manage a left ankle sprain. Tatum averages 27.5 points, and he had 38 points, 14 rebounds and six assists in Saturday’s 118-101 win over the Pacers.

    “He stepped up and didn’t force anything,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said of Brown. “He let the game come to him. He scored in many different ways.”

    Jrue Holiday scored 21 points and Porzingis had 19 for Boston.

    “We all played a relatively decent offensive game,” Mazzulla said, “but we all have to be better on defense.”

    The Pacers trailed by nine points at halftime but finished with seven double-figure scorers. Aaron Nesmith scored 17 points, Myles Turner 16 and Buddy Hield 15.

    Brown thought he was headed to the line for potential game-deciding free throws after officials whistled Hield for a foul with the game tied at 131 and 3.2 seconds remaining. But a review overturned the call and awarded possession to the Pacers.

    Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has led his team into the semifinals of the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, where he’ll be taking on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday for a spot in the final on Saturday.

    Haliburton and his teammates practiced Wednesday in Las Vegas, where the semifinals and the final will be held. He posed with the NBA Cup and spoke to the media about his path to stardom and whether the In-Season Tournament format should be altered for 2024.

    Haliburton ignores superstition — he touched the NBA Cup!

    When elite athletes are battling to win a trophy or some kind of silverware, it’s usually considered bad luck to touch the championship cup or trophy before it’s been officially awarded. But don’t tell that to Haliburton, who both posed with and touched the NBA Cup during Wednesday’s practice session open to the media.

    Haliburton’s path to this point has been lined by doubts — and doubters. A lightly-recruited three-star prospect out of Wisconsin, Haliburton worked himself into a lottery pick while playing at Iowa State University. But the team that drafted him — the Sacramento Kings — traded him less than two full seasons into his career.

    Now, he’s found a home in Indy, where he signed a max contract extension in July that will keep him with the Pacers through 2028.

    Haliburton “curious” whether tournament format will change

    Haliburton on Wednesday admitted that he had some trouble getting to sleep following Monday’s win over the Boston Celtics — one of the biggest nights in the history of the Pacers franchise, as it clinched a spot in the In-Season Tournament semifinals.

    “To get a taste of playing on national TV is cool,” Haliburton said. “You want to keep doing it, and you’ve got to win to do that.”

    The Pacers point guard is doing his best to turn the page from the win over Boston, knowing that star-studded Milwaukee will want revenge for a 126-124 loss to Indiana last month.

    “The better we play, the more love we’re gonna get,” Haliburton said. “We’ve got to take that in stride and understand that can be a poison in a sense at the same time.”

    When asked whether he wished to see changes made to the In-Season Tournament for its second go-round in 2024/25, Haliburton said he wants to “avoid the tiebreaker mess” that confused fans and upset certain players.

    “I’m curious to see what changes next year,” Haliburton said. “Maybe playing a couple more games, maybe outside of your group or in the other conference, playing more games to have different scenarios with tiebreakers and make it make a little more sense.”

    Pacers win shootout with Hawks to clinch In-Season Tournament quarterfinal berth

    Tyrese Haliburton scored 37 points, Buddy Hield hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer in the final minute and the Indiana Pacers beat the Atlanta Hawks 157-152 on Tuesday night to clinch a spot in the NBA In-Season Tournament quarterfinals.

    Hield‘s jumper from the left wing broke a 152-all tie with 52 seconds left. Dejounte Murray was called for an offensive foul on a 3-point attempt on the Hawks‘ next possession, then missed a difficult layup following an Indiana turnover with eight seconds remaining. Hield made a layup at the buzzer.

    The Pacers are 3-0 in East Group A with one game left in group play. The Hawks dropped to 1-2. The quarterfinals will be held Dec. 4-5.

    Haliburton, who leads the NBA in assists, had 16 against the Hawks. Hield had 24 points and Obi Toppin scored 21 off the bench. Bennedict Mathurin added 19 points, including a buzzer-beating shot to close the third quarter.

    Trae Young led the Hawks with 38 points and eight assists. Bogdan Bogdanovic had 26 points on 10-for-15 shooting. Murray scored 28.

    Defense a mere suggestion

    The teams entered the game both ranked in the top five in points per game and the bottom five in points allowed per game, setting up for a high-scoring affair. The first half did not disappoint, as the Hawks set a franchise record with 86 points and led 86-73 at the break.

    Atlanta led by 20 in the second quarter but the Pacers came all the way back and tied it at 107 when Haliburton hit a 3 with just under four minutes remaining in the third. Haliburton scored 26 points in the period, and Indiana led 119-114 entering the fourth.

    The Pacers shook up their starting lineup, inserting Hield and Aaron Nesmith in place of Toppin and Mathurin.
