{"id":100311,"date":"2024-03-07T13:35:21","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T13:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sports.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/07\/commanders-oc-reunites-with-three-time-pro-bowler\/"},"modified":"2024-03-07T13:35:21","modified_gmt":"2024-03-07T13:35:21","slug":"commanders-oc-reunites-with-three-time-pro-bowler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sports.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/07\/commanders-oc-reunites-with-three-time-pro-bowler\/","title":{"rendered":"Commanders OC reunites with three-time Pro Bowler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"ac_83190196\">\n<div class=\"froala-view custom-theme first_text_block\">\n<p> Kliff Kingsbury and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/players\/zach_ertz\/258623\" class=\"yard_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zach Ertz<\/a> spent parts of two seasons together with the Arizona Cardinals from 2021-22 as the head coach and starting tight end, respectively. <\/p>\n<p>Now, the pair are reuniting in the nation&#8217;s capital.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"ac_83190199\">\n<div class=\"froala-view custom-theme \">\n<p>Kingsbury was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/articles\/commanders_redeem_themselves_with_oc_dc_hires\/s1_13132_39921214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired<\/a> as the Washington Commanders&#8217; new offensive coordinator in early February, leading to Eric Bieniemy&#8217;s departure.<\/p>\n<p>The Commanders <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Commanders\/status\/1763670630229066078?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released<\/a> 32-year-old tight end Logan Thomas last week, paving the way for the Ertz signing.<\/p>\n<p>Ertz spent the first eight-plus seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, earning all three of his Pro Bowl honors in consecutive campaigns from 2017-19. Ertz was also Philadelphia&#8217;s leading receiver in four straight years and helped the franchise win its first Super Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>The Stanford product finished the Eagles&#8217;\u00a0Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots with a team-high seven catches for 67 yards and caught the game-winning touchdown with 2:21 left in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Ertz joined Kingsbury and the Cardinals via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nfl\/articles\/eagles_trade_three_time_pro_bowl_te_zach_ertz_to_cardinals\/s1_13132_36147323\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a trade<\/a> in October 2021 and helped Arizona make the playoffs that season.<\/p>\n<p>He played 10 games in 2022 before suffering a season-ending knee injury and missed time last season due to a quadriceps issue.
