In a thrilling match at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024<\/strong>, Mumbai Indians<\/strong> (MI)<\/strong> defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS)<\/strong> by 9 runs<\/a> at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Thursday.<\/p>\n After being asked to bat first, Mumbai posted a massive total of 192\/7 in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav<\/strong><\/a> was the star for MI, scoring a brilliant 78 off 53 balls, laced with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Former skipper Rohit Sharma provided a quickfire 36 off 25 balls at the top, but the rest of the batting order faltered against a disciplined Punjab bowling attack.<\/p>\n Harshal Patel<\/strong> bagged three wickets for 31 runs in his quota of 4 overs while PBKS skipper Sam Curran<\/strong> picked up a couple of scalps. Kagiso Rabada secured only a single wicket.<\/p>\n In reply, Punjab\u2019s chase never quite got into a smooth rhythm. Openers Curran and Prabhsimran Singh<\/strong> fell cheaply, leaving the middle order with a mountain to climb. Ashutosh Sharma<\/strong>, however, played a blinder of a knock, scoring a rapid 61 off just 28 deliveries. Shashank Singh<\/strong> (41 off 25) also chipped in with a valuable knock, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Harpreet Brar<\/strong>\u2018s late cameo of 21 runs wasn\u2019t enough for Punjab as they were eventually bowled out for 183 runs in 19.1 overs.<\/p>\n Jasprit Bumrah<\/strong> was the star with the ball for Mumbai, taking a brilliant three-wicket haul for 21 runs in 4 overs.
