The initiative is backed by a multiyear agreement with Google.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The details:<\/strong> Thanks to the tech giant\u2019s support, <em>The Athletic<\/em> will begin posting job listings this week. The outlet is seeking journalists to cover basketball and soccer, with some roles focused on the business of basketball and the upcoming FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup. It also plans to expand podcast and newsletter offerings.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The<\/em> <em>New York Times<\/em>\u2013owned publication aims to launch verticals dedicated to women\u2019s golf, hockey and tennis as part of the collab. Google will also utilize paid media campaigns, with promotions mostly occurring on <em>The Athletic<\/em> and the NYT\u2019s platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The trend:<\/strong> Google isn\u2019t the only brand influencing the women\u2019s sports media landscape.
