Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux suffered a torn ACL<\/a> during a spring training game Monday that will likely end his season, the team revealed Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Manager Dave Roberts called the loss a “big blow,” adding Miguel Rojas, who was intended to be a backup, will play shortstop, via ESPN.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the offseason, former Dodgers SS Trea Turner signed an 11-year, $300 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, leaving a vacancy at the position. Lux was the obvious choice to take over. As insurance, the Dodgers traded for Rojas<\/a>, who can also play other infield spots.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Roberts also told the media that Chris Taylor will start a throwing program to play more shortstop, and outfielder Mookie Betts might see more playing time at second base to help out whenever needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
