As IPL 2023 is around the corner, Royal Challenger Bangalore\u2019s skipper Faf du Plessis made an appearance on the RCB Podcast Season 2. Faf du Plessis took over the captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2022 and did very well in the first season taking them to playoffs and will look forward to winning the first-ever trophy for RCB in 2023.<\/p>\n
Faf du Plessis spoke about many things in RCB Podcast about his leadership skills, his lifestyle, and what keeps him going in cricket. Faf said that he wanted to be himself rather than take a cue from another captain. He also added that he wanted to be true to himself and said he strongly believes the true face of everyone will be revealed during their tough times.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cI am not going to be Graeme Smith as a captain, I\u2019m not going to be Stephen Fleming as a captain, I\u2019m not going to be MS Dhoni as a captain. For me to be true to who I am as a person, I need to be me. <\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cBecause if you\u2019re not being you, then people will see through it, maybe not when you\u2019re doing well but definitely when you are under pressure, or underperforming, the real you will reveal itself,\u201d<\/strong> said Faf.<\/p>\n Faf du Plessis further revealed that he loved leading South Africa over the years, Overall he led in 36 Tests, 39 ODIs, and 40 T20Is, of which South Africa won 18, 28, and 25 respectively. Faf du Plessis who has played for Chennai Super Kings over the years was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL auction 2022.<\/p>\n The RCB captain said that his Royal Challengers Bangalore opportunity is another chapter in his life and he wanted to achieve something special in RCB colours. The former Proteas captain scored 369 runs at an average of 41\u2013and a strike rate of 147.<\/p>\n Du Plessis played IPL 2022 for RCB, scoring 468 runs.
