It was an ugly look for Los Angeles County and its sheriff\u2019s department.<\/p>\n<p>Now, three years after the tragic events of that January day, <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/vanessa-bryant-honors-kobe-and-gianna-in-an-amazing-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vanessa Bryant is finally getting some sort of closure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kobe\u2019s widow settled with Los Angeles County on Tuesday for $28.85 million over photos of the crash that killed her husband and daughter.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cToday marks the successful culmination of Mrs. Bryant\u2019s courageous battle to hold accountable those who engaged in this grotesque conduct. She fought for her husband, her daughter, and all those in the community whose deceased family were treated with similar disrespect. We hope her victory at trial and this settlement will put an end to this practice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/vanessa-bryant-settles-claims-la-county-29-million\/story?id=97538345&amp;cid=social_twitter_abcn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vanessa Bryant\u2019s attorney, Luis Li, said in a statement\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Co-plaintiff Chris Chester, who lost his wife and daughter in the accident, also settled with the county for $19.95 million.<\/p>\n<p>While this won\u2019t bring back any of the souls who perished on that fateful Sunday, it can provide some closure.
