Liverpool legend Steve McManaman thinks his former club will \u201chave the finances\u201d to sign Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount from Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.<\/p>\n
The Reds are expected to be busy this summer as they look to strengthen their squad.<\/p>\n
They are perhaps at their weakest in midfield and much of their budget is expected to go into adding more quality in the middle of the pitch.<\/p>\n
It is well-known that Jurgen Klopp\u2019s side are looking to sign Bellingham<\/a><\/strong> from Bundesliga side Dortmund, but they are facing competition from the likes of Man City and Real Madrid.<\/p>\n With Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner out of contract this summer, Liverpool<\/a> <\/strong>are expected to bring in two midfielders even if they do recruit Bellingham.<\/p>\n They are known to be admirers of Mount, who will be sold this summer if he decides not to extend his current Chelsea contract<\/strong> <\/a>which is due to expire in 2024.<\/p>\n McManaman is expecting that Mount \u201cwill move to another Premier League club\u201d this summer.<\/p>\n \u201cI can see [Mount] moving to another Premier League club, but I could say that about any Chelsea player. Chelsea have so many players in their team that something has to give,\u201d McManaman told Betfred.<\/p>\n \u201cThey have 30 or so professional players in their squad right now and that\u2019s not even counting the players they\u2019ve got out on loan, so if you\u2019re a Chelsea player, then you\u2019d be knocking on the door of the manager, or whoever\u2019s making those decisions, and asking what on earth is going on and if you\u2019re going to play.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019re Mason Mount, then you\u2019re going to want to play every single game and if you\u2019re suddenly in limbo because you don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on with all the new players getting brought in around you, then you\u2019re going to want to know what\u2019s going to happen regarding your future.<\/p>\n \u201cA number of Chelsea players have to leave anyway because it\u2019s just chaos for a manager to deal with it all, so it wouldn\u2019t surprise me at all if one of them was Mason and there would be a host of Premier League clubs that would take him.\u201d<\/p>\n He also feels that Liverpool will be able to sign Bellingham and Mount if the players are open to a move to Anfield.<\/p>\n \u201cIn regards to Liverpool going in for Mason, then it all depends on finances. I could see them getting two marquee signings, no problem at all.
