The Portland Trail Blazers<\/a><\/strong> point guard netted 41 points with 12\/22 from the field on Wednesday, but couldn’t help his team beat the New Orleans Pelicans<\/a><\/strong>, who grabbed a 121-110 win.<\/p>\n This was the 13th time Lillard <\/strong>has scored 40 or more points this campaign. With his performance against the Pelicans<\/strong>, Lillard <\/strong>surpassed Michael Jordan<\/strong> for having the most 40-point games in a season for players age 32 and over. <\/p>\n Jordan <\/strong>managed to do so 12 times in his last season for the Chicago Bulls <\/strong>back in 1997\/98. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Lillard <\/strong>scored a franchise-record 71 points in a 131-114 win over the Houston Rockets<\/strong> a few days ago.<\/p>\n “They’ll never give me credit for what I’ve done,” Lillard <\/strong>told the Point Forward podcast.<\/p>\n “Unless I just come out here and win a championship for Portland<\/strong>.
