Former Man Utd midfielder Kleberson believes his compatriot Richarlison \u201cshould have\u201d joined the Red Devils \u201cinstead of Tottenham\u201d last summer.<\/p>\n
Tottenham paid around \u00a352million to sign the Brazilian striker from Everton.<\/p>\n
It has not been a great start for the 25-year-old, however. In 23 appearances across all competitions, he has scored twice, with both goals coming in the same Champions League game.<\/p>\n
This means Richarlison has failed to score in any of his 16 Premier League appearances for the north Londoners.<\/p>\n
The former Watford forward led the line for Antonio Conte\u2019s side against Sheffield United on Wednesday as they crashed out of the FA Cup.<\/p>\n
Tottenham are now expected to finish yet another campaign without a trophy, but have won four of their last five league matches, keeping a clean sheet in all of those victories, putting them in a solid position to finish in the top four.<\/p>\n
Before joining Spurs from Everton last July, Richarlison was linked with both Chelsea and Man Utd.<\/p>\n
The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for a new no. 9 after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club last November, but signing a player in that position was not a priority in the 2022 summer window.<\/p>\n
Former Man Utd midfielder Kleberson thinks Erik ten Hag\u2019s side should pursue Richarlison at the end of the season, despite his poor form for Spurs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d really like to see Richarlison play for Man Utd,\u201d Kleberson said to\u00a0OLBG.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s the kind of striker that could help United a lot. Especially with teams pressing, he can do a low block, he can put pressure on the centre-back and he can get inside the box.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s played in the Premier League for many years, he understands the rules and he\u2019s a really hard-working player.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Man Utd get more structure and consistency, winning more games, I think Richarlison is a player who could do a lot for the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen Richarlison was at Everton, I think he should have gone to\u00a0Manchester United\u00a0instead of Tottenham. It could have been different.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow he doesn\u2019t play much and he doesn\u2019t get many opportunities. He\u2019s competing with guys at Tottenham who are amazing players. He\u2019s on the bench, but he\u2019s competing with these big players.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a club, sometimes you need to take a risk because he\u2019s not a bad player, he\u2019s an amazing player. He plays for Brazil\u2019s national team, he just needs game time and some confidence from the coach and the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe he could easily do an amazing job for United.\u201d<\/p>\n
