Despite his quick and steep fall from grace, Carson Wentz<\/a> isn’t ready to call it quits yet. \u00a0 <\/p>\n According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Wentz is determined to continue his career and is open to “various roles” to prove his worth to a team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Wentz is seemingly hinting that he’d be content competing for a backup role, which probably wasn’t the case when he joined the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders.\u00a0<\/p>\n Wherever Wentz lands, he’ll be suiting up for his third team in as many seasons, having fallen out of favor with the Philadelphia Eagles, Colts and now Commanders.\u00a0<\/p>\n Even though Wentz has seen his play decline, there’s always a market for quarterbacks in the NFL, and the former No. 2 overall pick should have plenty of suitors. Per OddsChecker<\/a>, the Kansas City Chiefs (+300) have the best chances to sign Wentz, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+400), who are\u00a0rumored<\/a> to be interested in bringing Wentz aboard to push would-be-starter Kyle Trask.\u00a0<\/p>\n Last season, Wentz played in only eight games for the Washington Commanders, limited after surgery to repair a fractured finger before losing his starting job to Taylor Heinicke. Wentz had an uninspiring year, throwing for 1,755 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, finishing 30th (32.9<\/a>) in the NFL in QBR. Unsurprisingly, the Commanders cut bait on Wentz, releasing him on Feb. 27.\u00a0<\/p>\n Usually, when a quarterback struggles, many suggest a change of scenery as the remedy. However, Wentz has had two opportunities at fresh starts, squandering both. Perhaps expectations are to blame, and maybe a backup job is what Wentz needs to get right. Regardless, an NFL team will give Wentz another shot, and it will likely be his last.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
