The two sides agreed to a one-year, two-million-dollar deal. This will be Hand&#8217;s eighth team in 13 seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Hand spent last season with the Philadelphia Phillies. He posted a 2.80 ERA in 55 games. It was one of Hand&#8217;s lowest ERAs in a couple of seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Going to Colorado isn&#8217;t where any pitcher wants to go. The elevation makes baseballs fly farther off the bat and makes a pitcher&#8217;s breaking ball less effective. Fans often see pitchers&#8217; numbers get blown up after they head to Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>Hand will join a bullpen that doesn&#8217;t have a single member who posted below a 4.0 ERA last season. The Colorado Rockies haven&#8217;t been a .500 team since 2018, when they lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS. That was the year they had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/nolan-arenado\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Nolan Arenado<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/trevor-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Trevor Story<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fangraphs has projected this team to have the fewest wins in the league, with 65. There isn&#8217;t a polarizing player on their roster that the team can get behind.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s tough for the Rockies to land free agents. No pitcher wants to go there, and hitters don&#8217;t want to have their offensive numbers asterisked because they played in Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>They have great young players like Ryan McMahon and Brendan Rodgers. However, Rodgers dislocated his left shoulder a few days ago. The dislocation may require surgery, which puts his 2023 season in jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully, they get a healthy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/kris-bryant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Kris Bryant<\/a> this season. The Rockies signed Bryant last year to a seven-year, $182 million deal. He only played in 42 games last season as he dealt with issues with his foot.<\/p>\n<p>The Rockies will be relying on Bryant this season.
