Liverpool are reportedly \u2018growing in confidence\u2019 they will win the race to sign Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham this summer.<\/p>\n
Bellingham had a tough evening at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday as Dortmund were knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea.<\/p>\n
The Blues are one of the many clubs interested in signing the England midfielder, though it is believed that Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City are the current frontrunners.<\/p>\n
Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal have also been linked, plus there is some hope within the Dortmund hierarchy that the player will stay put.<\/p>\n
Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl recently admitted that the club are doing everything they can to ensure Bellingham spends at least one more season with them.<\/p>\n
Liverpool would probably be the outright favourites to sign the 19-year-old if they weren\u2019t having such a poor season.<\/p>\n
A top-four finish looked unlikely a few weeks ago, however, some terrific results \u2013 in particular Sunday\u2019s 7-0 win against Manchester United \u2013 have made them odds-on with some bookmakers to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n
Liverpool\u2019s recent form means they are \u2018growing in confidence\u2019 they can land Bellingham, according to the Daily Mail<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n The report claims that the club\u2019s hopes of landing the Dortmund midfielder \u2018hinge\u2019 on their bid to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n Playing in the competition will \u2018be a decisive factor\u2019 in Bellingham\u2019s next club and competition is expected to be \u2018fierce\u2019.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, talkSPORT<\/em> claim that Bellingham will make a decision on his future after this month\u2019s international break.<\/a><\/p>\n The 19-year-old is expected to be included in England\u2019s squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine.<\/p>\n Dortmund will apparently ask for at least \u00a3125million to sell Bellingham and are willing to give the player a \u2018massive pay rise\u2019 to extend his contract which would include a buyout clause, similar to Erling Haaland, who was bought by Manchester City for \u00a351m last summer.<\/p>\n The other report states that Liverpool\u2019s pursuit \u2018hinges\u2019 on Champions League football, however, talkSPORT<\/em> understand that Bellingham could still move to Anfield even if they do not qualify for Europe\u2019s premier competition.<\/p>\n It was reported on Tuesday that Bellingham\u2019s dad met with\u00a0Real Madrid\u2019s head of recruitment Juni Calafat in London.<\/p>\n Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that this sort of thing is very normal and should not be of concern to the likes of Liverpool and City.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s absolutely normal to meet when directors are traveling for Champions League,\u201d Romano told CaughtOffside<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cBellingham\u2019s father is holding meetings every week, same for Borussia director Sebastian Kehl.
