Ruben Amorim named a strong side to start despite the fixture coming three days after they\u00a0beat Aston Villa 2-0 on the final day of the Premier League season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, despite firing off 19 shots in total,\u00a0United<\/a>\u00a0could not find a way past their Asian counterparts.<\/p>\n

The Old Trafford outfit now have one final match of their miserable 2024\/25 campaign before attention turns to pre-season in July.<\/p>\n

A 32-player United squad has travelled to Asia for their post-season games, with 25 outfield players taking to the pitch in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

Noussair Mazraoui, Lisandro Martinez, and\u00a0Leny Yoro<\/a>\u00a0have not made the trip with the team due to injury.<\/p>\n

Christian Eriksen<\/a>\u00a0and Victor Lindelof also aren\u2019t part of the squad as their contracts are expiring at the end of June, but\u00a0Jonny Evans<\/a>, whose deal is running out too, has travelled.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes both played the entire second half on Wednesday, despite rumours of an exit<\/a> for both.<\/p>\n

United supporters at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium vented their frustrations at the result and booed the team at full time.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the boos, Amorim said: “I feel always guilty of the performance of the team since I am here in the first game.<\/p>\n

“The boos from the fans, maybe it is something we need because every game that we lost in the Premier League they were always there.<\/p>\n

“Let’s see for next season.”<\/p>\n

Asked why fans should continue to watch his team, Amorim told the Post: \u201cIf you can afford it, which is important, then you support your club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had my club as a young kid, no matter the situation, and I suffered a lot. Benfica, in the \u201990s, struggled \u2026 but I never stopped buying tickets. They were also my gift from my father for my birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese people believe in Manchester United, no matter the context. It\u2019s our job and duty to improve for next season.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
