Orbea just launched the all-new Terra Race, and boy, does it look fast. The devil is in the details, and the new Terra Race is full of little bits to make it an efficient bike on gravel and the road. With a race-tuned geometry, cable-free front end, and a super unique compliant but stiff rear triangle. This new race-focused version of the Terra will have many riders looking for their Orbea dealer this summer.<\/p>\n

Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement of the updated do-it-all Orbea Terra<\/a> comes the Terra Race, a new model designed for speed during training and racing. Orbea’s decision to split the Terra lineup into two models doesn’t come as a huge surprise, given that other brands like Trek<\/a> have made similar design choices recently. <\/p>\n

Now, Orbea is also offering riders the option to choose between the versatile, all-around Terra or the race-focused Terra Race, allowing them to select the bike that best suits their needs.<\/p>\n

This one’s for the racers\u2014the folks chasing podiums at Unbound, duking it out in the dust at BWR, or shaving seconds off gravel crit laps. With a sub-kilo OMX carbon frame and tuned-for-speed geometry, the Terra Race is everything you want when the course gets fast, and the terrain doesn’t play nice.<\/p>\n

The new Terra Race starts with Orbea’s top-shelf OMX carbon layup\u2014laser-cut, high-modulus fibers placed with surgical precision. The result is a very light, 910g frame (claimed size medium, unpainted) that’s a full 300g lighter than the outgoing model. Toss in a 425g matching OMX fork, and you’ve got a platform that’s not only featherweight but race-ready stiff where it counts.<\/p>\n
