Manchester United are interested in signing Brighton defender Pervis Estupinan, talkSPORT understands.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Red Devils have held talks with the player’s camp, although they face competition from AC Milan, who are also keen on the Ecuadorian.<\/p>\n

Brighton are likely to be open to offers for Estupinan having strengthened in the left-back position by signing Maxim De Cuyper.<\/p>\n

The Belgian international has penned a five-year deal in East Sussex after arriving from Club Brugge.<\/p>\n

As for Estupinan, the 27-year-old has entered the final two years of his Seagulls contract.<\/p>\n

Since joining the club from Villarreal in 2022, he has made 104 appearances in three seasons.<\/p>\n

Those include 30 Premier League matches last term, where the full-back scored once and provided a single assist.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, United already have considerable options at left-back.<\/p>\n

Tyrell Malacia has returned to the club following a loan spell at PSV during the second half of last season.<\/p>\n

The Dutch defender joins Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu, who signed from Lecce in February, as Ruben Amorim’s choice in the position.<\/p>\n

It comes as former Red Devils left-back Alvaro Carreras joins Real Madrid from Benfica.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard’s \u00a343million move comes just over a year after he was sold by United.<\/p>\n

Carreras had spent four years at Old Trafford before making his loan spell at the Portuguese side permanent.<\/p>\n

His previous loans away from the club included stints at Preston and Granada.<\/p>\n

However, Carreras departed in May 2024 without making a first-team appearance.<\/p>\n

United have already made three signings so far this summer, with Matheus Cunha their most notable arrival.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian forward joined on a five-year deal from Wolves for \u00a362.5million in June.<\/p>\n

Amorim’s side are reportedly monitoring Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson’s situation<\/a>.<\/p>\n
