Newcastle are reportedly considering another move for Marc Guehi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Magpies<\/a> were keen to bring the centre-back to St. James’ Park last summer and held advanced talks over a \u00a360million move<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palace<\/a> held out for \u00a370m and kept their club captain for the 2024\/25 season, during which they won the FA Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Newcastle have reignited their interest this summer, as per The Times.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe’s side are willing to spend a maximum of \u00a340m<\/a> on the 25-year-old and could delay a move until later in the window.<\/p>\n

Palace are asking for \u00a350m amid other interest from Liverpool<\/a>, but the Premier League champions are unwilling to pay such a fee with a year left on his deal.<\/p>\n

talkSPORT reported in June that Guehi<\/a> is willing to run his contract down<\/a> at Selhurst Park and leave for free next summer.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur have also been keeping tabs on the England international, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich keen to sign him as a free agent.<\/p>\n

Guehi joined Palace from Chelsea in 2021 for a reported \u00a318m, their fourth most expensive signing ever.<\/p>\n

He has made 155 appearances for the Eagles across four seasons and captained his side at Wembley for their FA Cup triumph in May.<\/p>\n

A move to Newcastle would mark a much-needed improvement to their summer transfer window as the Magpies have missed out on numerous targets.<\/p>\n

Bryan Mbeumo, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Liam Delap are among the stars to snub Newcastle to move elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Anthony Elanga’s \u00a355m move from Nottingham Forest preceded the loan signing of Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton.<\/p>\n

But the future of star striker Alexander Isak remains up in the air after they rejected a \u00a3110m bid<\/a> from Liverpool last week.<\/p>\n

Should Newcastle keep Isak, or sign Benjamin Sesko<\/a> from RB Leipzig, the potential arrival of Guehi would only see their squad strengthen.<\/p>\n

Should Palace cash in on Guehi?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Although Guehi is one of the most important players at Palace, they could see him leave for nothing this time next year.<\/p>\n

And talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan, the club’s former owner, believes the Eagles should sell him now to generate some income.<\/p>\n

“Sell him!” he told Jim White in June when asked what he’d do. “Unless you can tie him down. You’re not going to tie him down, are you?”<\/p>\n

“And get nothing for him?” he responded to the prospect of Guehi staying for one more season. “That’s the choice.<\/p>\n

“They took the roll of the dice last year, they didn’t take Newcastle’s money, insofar as Newcastle really offered it and it was on the nail.<\/p>\n

“And now they’re against the clock, so what do you get? You get nothing, and then you’ve got to go and buy a centre-back.<\/p>\n

“So, you might as well sell him. I mean, [Oliver] Glasner won’t be thrilled with that unless you can tie him down, but he’s not going to be tied down, is he?”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
