Simon Jordan has urged Benjamin Sesko to join Newcastle over Manchester United, insisting it would benefit his career more.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two Premier League sides are currently battling it out for the RB Leipzig striker’s signature, with the Red Devils<\/a> recently submitting an improved bid of\u00a0\u00a365.1million plus a further \u00a38.7m<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This approach follows a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>club-record bid from Newcastle<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>worth \u00a370million plus add-ons, which is a greater total package<\/span> than United’s.<\/p>\n

The Magpies’<\/a> new offer was lodged on Monday and came with the demand that Sesko informs the club whether he wants to join within 48 hours.<\/p>\n

talkSPORT understands that the player has agreed financial terms with both Newcastle and Man United.<\/p>\n

With a decision supposedly imminent, we are likely to soon discover which move the Slovenian favours.<\/p>\n

Both sides are keen to bolster their attacking options for different reasons, with Newcastle only prepared to sell want-away talisman Alexander Isak<\/a> if they can land Sesko.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has become one of Europe’s hottest properties after scoring 39 goals in 87 games since joining Leipzig in 2022.<\/p>\n

While Sesko is believed to have agreed financial terms with both, United are reportedly confident he favours a move to Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

But if it were up to talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan, Sesko would be heading even further north.<\/p>\n

Jordan believes a move to Newcastle would allow Sesko more room to grow and develop, without the level of scrutiny a move to United would bring.<\/p>\n

When asked which project he felt was better, the presenter immediately replied: \u201cNewcastle. <\/p>\n

“I think because Newcastle comes with expectation, but doesn’t come with the same pressure that Man United comes from.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhilst people focus on Newcastle, they focus on it because Newcastle makes a lot of noise, because it’s a very passionate football club and the fans are very motivated by it. It doesn’t have the day-to-day scrutiny that Man United has.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn’t matter what happens, you can fart in the corridor of Man United – that’s heard around the world. It’s not the same at Newcastle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jordan then suggested Newcastle would give Sesko a better opportunity to impress, while Man United are in a period of transition following Ruben Amorim’s appointment in November.<\/p>\n

Since Newcastle’s takeover by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund [PIF] in 2021, they have twice qualified for the Champions League, and finished fifth in the league last season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Red Devils recorded their worst ever Premier League campaign, coming 15th with a record-low 42 points.<\/p>\n

Jordan explained: \u201cIn terms of people focusing and really dialling into what happens at Man United…<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’ve got Ruben Amorim that’s presiding over a 12-year decline of Manchester United and and ocean liners don’t turn fast, he’s trying to correct it, and I think he’s making lots of missteps – but then we probably all would if we were in his shoes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhereas Newcastle, despite the frustrations around Isak, despite the frustrations of people perhaps using it as a stepping stone club, and they might not like to hear that, but it is a reality.”<\/p>\n

Jordan admitted that while Newcastle may be a less high-profile move, it could serve as a better stepping stone for him to catch the eye of future clubs.<\/p>\n

The talkSPORT host continued: \u201cI don’t think you lose very much by going to Newcastle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Simon Jordan was clear on which team Sesko should join<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

“You go there, you’re playing in a side that’s ambitious, but is a step below the radar. <\/p>\n

“You go and perform at a high level, the opportunity comes again, and it might come at a different stage in Man United’s evolution.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I’m a centre-forward that can get past the notion that going up to the north east of England isn’t as appealing as going to Manchester – and by the way, Newcastle is a beautiful town.”<\/p>\n

Jordan finished off: “If I were in his shoes, if the economics of the deal were that I wasn’t being compromised financially by going to Newcastle over Manchester United, I think it’s a great move.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Eddie Howe is a brilliant manager – I had my reservations about him in the past – I’ve had conversations already. I like him very much, and I think he’s done a brilliant job.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cSo I would be looking at Newcastle rather than Man United.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
