UFC<\/a><\/strong> President Dana White<\/a><\/strong> has slammed Tyson Fury<\/a><\/strong> and Oleksandr Usyk <\/a><\/strong>for their inability to schedule a heavyweight title unification fight, calling it “shocking” that the two champions have yet to make an official announcement with just over a month until the proposed date.<\/p>\n “It’s scheduled, no?” White asked when commenting about the delay withMirror Fighting <\/strong>in London. “Oh it’s not? Welcome to boxing, boys. Is it shocking? Yes. Is it ‘shocking’? No. It’s just that is boxing, that’s the way that that sport always seems to play out, the big fights that should happen never happen.”<\/p>\n Having started in combat as a fan of the sport, White<\/strong> admitted that he based the structure of his MMA <\/strong>promotion on the frustrations he felt missing out on the best fights.<\/p>\n “And when they do, it’s always late and that’s the stuff that used to drive me crazy as a fan and it’s literally part of how I designed this company to not be. We try to make the big fights when it’s time to make the big fights.”<\/p>\n White’s frustration is understandable, given that the proposed Fury-Usyk<\/strong> bout would be the first undisputed heavyweight fight of the four-belt era.<\/p>\n Fury<\/strong> himself was unable to fight Anthony Joshua<\/strong> for all the belts in 2021 due to contractual issues, while Usyk <\/strong>could never strike a deal with Deontay Wilder<\/strong> back when the American held WBC<\/strong> gold and he was WBO, IBF<\/strong> and WBA<\/strong> super champion.<\/p>\n Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the Fury-Usyk<\/strong> fight, but negotiations appear to be at a standstill. If the fight doesn’t materialize, Usyk is more likely to face Daniel Dubois<\/strong> next.
