At some point during the season, the Bears coaching staff figured out how to get the most out of quarterback Justin Fields\u2019 ability, and the young pass thrower began to shine.<\/p>\n<h2>Chicago Bears Have $16 Million More Cap Space Than Second-Place<\/h2>\n<p><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-504032\" title=\"Justin Fields\" src=\"https:\/\/sportslens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/rsz-cstbrightspotcdn1-555x370.jpeg\" alt=\"rsz cstbrightspotcdn1\" width=\"555\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sportslens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/rsz-cstbrightspotcdn1-555x370.jpeg 555w, https:\/\/sportslens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/rsz-cstbrightspotcdn1-24x16.jpeg 24w, https:\/\/sportslens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/rsz-cstbrightspotcdn1-36x24.jpeg 36w, https:\/\/sportslens.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/rsz-cstbrightspotcdn1.jpeg 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\"\/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to his dual threat ability, Fields became one of the most electrifying players in the league, but there simply wasn\u2019t enough talent on either side of the ball to compliment him.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago has made sure that that won\u2019t be the case two seasons in a row.<\/p>\n<p>Not only were they able to flip the first overall pick for a package of assets, but they still have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotrac.com\/nfl\/chicago-bears\/cap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the most money to spend of any team in the NFL<\/a>, by a wide margin. They not only have the most cap space, but they do so by an impressive margin. The Falcons and Packers are the second and third ranked teams, and they have over $16 million less space than Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison\u2019s sake, the division rival Minnesota Vikings have the least money to spend. They are nearly $2 million <em>over<\/em> the cap.<\/p>\n<p>Where might the Bears allocate that money? There is plenty of off-season left. The NFL Draft will be here before we know it, though there aren\u2019t nearly enough rookies to eat up the cap space that Chicago has available.
