The wife of former Brisbane Roar striker Charlie Austin has divided the internet after praising her teenage daughter for punching her bully in the face. <\/p>\n

Bianca Austin has been married to the former Premier League star since 2015, and has one daughter with the striker. <\/p>\n

Ms Austin tweeted last week: \u201cAfter weeks of being bullied by the same girl, numerous phone calls to the school and nothing changing, today when being called names my daughter finally punched the bully in the face.<\/p>\n

\u201cProud mum,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n

The tweet blew up, garnering 17,000 likes. <\/p>\n

Asked whether her daughter feels better now \u201cshe\u2019s stood up for herself\u201d, Austin replies \u201cNo, but she\u2019s hoping the girl will leave her alone now.\u201d <\/p>\n

As for the bully, Austin does not seem satisfied with the outcome that the school responded with. <\/p>\n

\u201c(My daughter) is in an in-school exclusion at the moment whilst the other child is in class,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked what sanction she would be receiving and was told she was only verbally abusive but other students\u2019 sanctions are not allowed to be discussed with me. <\/p>\n

In a follow-up tweet, Austin wrote \u201cNo wonder bullying is never stopped in schools.\u201d <\/p>\n

One social media user responded \u201cyour daughter should not be hitting anyone – ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get that bullying is awful and harmful but when I said that your daughter\u2019s actions would make things worse, you can now see where I was going.<\/p>\n

\u201cBullying someone \u201cback\u201d by hitting is also bullying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Austin responded unequivocally, asking what alternative resolution method would be suggested. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d be interested to hear how you\u2019d suggest a resolution to the bullying,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSchool couldn\u2019t stop it, it was wrecking her mental health and affecting her GSCE studies, what is the right course of action here?!\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAlso, she didn\u2019t \u2018bully\u2019 back. Bullying is repeated behaviour, intended to hurt someone emotionally and physically.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has no intent of malice, all she wants is to be left alone to quietly enjoy school!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Australian Government\u2019s \u201cBullying. No Way!\u201d initiative says \u201cschools can be much more effective when parents report bullying and support their efforts to deal with it.\u201d <\/p>\n

Charlie Austin recently departed Brisbane Roar having scored 4 goals in 11 appearances, returning to his first league club, Swindon Town, in the English fourth division on a contract that runs through to the end of the 2022-23 season. <\/p>\n

Austin has scored 8 goals for Swindon Town since returning.<\/p>\n

Swindon Town sit 11th on the League Two table, eight points shy of promotion play-off contention. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
