With the IPL 2026 auction just three days away, former India opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth<\/strong><\/a> has shared his suggestions for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wishlist. Despite CSK already having a strong batting lineup, Srikkanth believes the five-time champions should focus on acquiring spin-bowling all-rounders, following the retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin and the trade of Ravindra Jadeja to Rajasthan Royals.<\/p>\n

Srikkanth specifically recommended New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Bracewell, who has delivered impressive performances in white-ball cricket for the Kiwis this year. CSK, who struggled in IPL 2025, finishing at the bottom of the points table, will be looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

\u201cCSK already has a gun lineup of 4 with Gaikwad, Samson, Aayush Mhatre, and Urvil Patel. So they won\u2019t be too worried about their batting. If I were in the CSK management, I would go for a guy like Michael Bracewell. Everyone is underestimating him. He has scored a brilliant century against India in Hyderabad. He can bowl good off-spin and is a left-hander who can tonk the ball. He is a good finisher,\u201d Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot many are talking about Michael Bracewell. Everyone keeps saying Livingstone, but the truth is, if Bracewell is encouraged, he\u2019ll do well. It is where someone like Dhoni can groom him into a fantastic all-rounder,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Srikkanth also advised CSK to avoid bidding for India\u2019s leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and South African veteran David Miller, despite their high market value in the auction pool.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll definitely not buy Ravi Bishnoi. With him, there is no scope. They already have Shreyas Gopal. He\u2019s a good bowler. Also, it\u2019s been ages since David Miller scored. And playing on the Chennai surface for half the matches, it\u2019ll not suit him. Instead of Miller, I\u2019d rather pick Bracewell, who\u2019ll also give a few overs with the ball,\u201d said Srikkanth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll try to pick both [Liam] Livingstone and Bracewell. You\u2019ll get both within 10 crores. That will solve the spot below Dube. CSK definitely need an all-rounder to fill the Jadeja hole, which semi all-rounders like Livingstone and Bracewell will give. I\u2019ll also surely try to get someone like Cooper Connolly. He\u2019s a youngster and an all-format player, who\u2019s also a left-hander. He\u2019ll surely go to CSK this time as they can buy him for just 2 or 3 crores,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
