Former Pakistan batsman Imran Nazir has taken a sly dig at India over recent reports suggesting that the Men in Blue will not visit Pakistan for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup.<\/p>\n
BCCI secretary Jay Shah had previously made it clear that India won\u2019t visit Pakistan for the continental championship later this year. Following Shah\u2019s comments, it became more or less clear that the tournament would be moved out of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
However, a recent report has suggested that Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in Pakistan but India will play their matches at a different venue. And while time will tell how things pan out in the coming months, Imran Nazir has used the opportunity to take shots at India.<\/p>\n The former cricketer said that a number of major teams have visited Pakistan and there is no concerns regarding security. He further said that India\u2019s security concern is\u00a0an excuse for not going to Pakistan.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is no security reason. Just look at how many teams have been to Pakistan. Forget A teams, even Australia visited. These are all just cover-ups. The truth is that India won\u2019t come to Pakistan [for the Asia Cup] because they are afraid of losing. Security is just an excuse. Come and play cricket. When you start playing politics, there is no way back,\u201d<\/strong> Imran Nazir said on Nadir Ali Podcast.<\/p>\n Speaking further, Imran Nazir said that the India vs Pakistan matches should be held regularly. He opined that India-Pakistan matches are important for the betterment of the game before slamming India, saying that they cannot tolerate loss.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople want to watch India vs Pakistan games because there is a different level of excitement to it. The entire world knows it. Even we as cricketer feel that for cricket to reach every corner of the world, India-Pakistan matches need to happen. We used to play so much cricket. They are such a balanced team but India cannot tolerate losing. It\u2019s a game; you\u2019ll win some, you\u2019ll lose some,\u201d<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n As of now, all the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan are suspended due to political reasons.
