Gardner Minshew<\/em><\/strong> started at quarterback with Patrick Mahomes<\/strong> sidelined, but Minshew<\/strong> left in the second quarter with a knee injury and did not return. Chris Oladokun<\/strong> finished the game, but the results did not change. The Chiefs<\/strong> managed just nine first downs and 133 total yards of offense, numbers more fitting of a preseason scrimmage than a regular-season NFL<\/strong> game.<\/p>\n Tennessee<\/strong>‘s defense dictated the tone early and never let up. Jeffery Simmons<\/strong> set the stage by bursting through the line to tackle Kareem Hunt<\/strong> in the end zone for a safety, giving the Titans <\/strong>an early lead and energizing a fan base that had waited months for something to cheer. The Titans <\/strong>finished with four sacks and dominated the line of scrimmage, holding the ball for more than 38 minutes.<\/p>\n By the final whistle, the Titans<\/strong> had improved to 3-12, matching their win total from last season with two games still to play. For Tennessee<\/strong>, it was a rare bright moment in a difficult year and a long-awaited home victory. For Kansas City,<\/strong> it was another alarming sign of how far the team has fallen.<\/p>\n Losing quarterback Patrick Mahomes<\/strong> explained some of the struggles, but it did not excuse the lack of competitiveness, execution or energy.
