Reid returning to the NFC East?<\/h2>\n

The truth is that since the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles<\/strong>, this year has not looked good for the team. Their turbulent start to the season <\/strong>continued, and with two games left on the schedule, the Chiefs have a 6-9 record and four consecutive losses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With Mahomes’ injury <\/strong>and the possible retirement of tight end Travis Kelce<\/strong>, there has also been speculation <\/strong>about the retirement <\/strong>of Kansas City head coach Andy Reid<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

This debate has been going on for years, although it seems that this option is not in the plans <\/strong>of the 67-year-old coach. This was confirmed by Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport<\/a>, experts from NFL Network, although they warned of possible future changes in the coaching staff: <\/p>\n

“Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy chose not to sign an extension in the offseason and is set to become a free agent. Nagy will be a top head coaching candidate and could well land a job. If he doesn’t, Nagy could become a hot candidate for a play-calling job elsewhere<\/em>,” they explained. <\/p>\n

“That would mean Reid needs a new OC, with several of his former assistants-including Eric Bieniemy and perhaps Giants interim HC Mike Kafka-among potential candidates”<\/em>they added.<\/p>\n

However, if Andy decides to follow in Nagy’s footsteps and leave the Chiefs, Tommy Lugauer of WFAN <\/strong>says Reid would be the perfect candidate to return to the NFC East and coach the New York Giants (6-8):<\/p>\n

“How about Andy Reid returns to the NFC East and coaches the Giants? To stick it to Philadelphia, to stick it to the Eagles<\/em><\/strong>,” Lugauer proposed, adding: “Andy Reid is arguably the greatest coach of all time. You know how you end that argument? By taking a third team to the Super Bowl<\/em><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Although the club would benefit from Reid’s experience and guidance, it is unlikely <\/strong>that the coach would take on a challenge of this magnitude, let alone leave the Chiefs after this forgettable season. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on Friday, December 26, the Chiefs <\/strong>will host the Denver Broncos (12-3) at Arrowhead Stadium, and on Sunday, January 4, they will close out the season at Allegiant Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-13).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
