Teenager Daniel Bennie has become the latest Australian to make a splash in England, scoring his first Championship goal with a stunner from outside the box.<\/p>\n

Countrymen Mohamed Toure\u2019s name was absent from the scoresheet for the first time since joining Norwich City last month, but Bennie ensured the Australian highlights kept coming in the English second division.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old came off the bench in the 80th minute, but ended Queen\u2019s Park Rangers 3-1 victory at Hull City with player of the match honours thanks to his stunning strike.<\/p>\n

Bennie scored just four minutes after coming onto the pitch to put QPR ahead before a 95th minute goal from teammate Richard Kone sealed the three points for the London club.<\/p>\n

The Australian has been recast as a centre forward in recent times by QPR manager Julien Stephan after playing predominantly as a winger throughout his fledging career. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe has scored like this during training sessions and I said at the end of the game \u2018Okay, now you are able to do that as well during the game!\u2019,\u201d Stephan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tough for him. He\u2019s a young player, very good mindset, came on with a lot of intensity and good quality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Perth Glory product joined QPR in 2024 and has also scored in the League Cup as well as for the Under 21s this season.<\/p>\n

Bennie also announced himself on the international stage at last year\u2019s U20 World Cup, scoring two goals in three games for the Young Socceroos.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Toure played 71 minutes before being substituted as Norwich lost 2-1 at home to Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Fellow Australian Nestory Irankunda returned to Watford\u2019s starting line-up for their 2-0 win against Derby County, having missed their last three matches.<\/p>\n

While Riley McGree, who has scored in his previous two outings, came off the bench for Middlesborough in their 0-0 draw with Oxford Utd. <\/p>\n

The Boro remain second on the table, but are now three points behind league leaders Coventry after dropping points.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
