Shortly after the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> suffered a 23-19 wild-card playoff loss to the\u00a0<\/span>San Francisco 49ers<\/a>\u00a0in January, a report\u00a0<\/span>claimed<\/span><\/a>\u00a0that quarterback Jalen Hurts had “been the source of much internal frustration.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This is in part because of the perception that head coach Nick Sirianni, general manager Howie Roseman and team owner Jeffrey Lurie have been “reluctant to criticize Hurts.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It sounds like Sirianni could find himself on the hot seat for the second time in three years, in part because of the nature of his relationship with Hurts.<\/span><\/p>\n According to NFL insider Jason La Canfora<\/a> of SportsBoom, some offensive coordinator candidates “had concerns about the long-term stability of” the Philadelphia job coming off the Eagles’ season. The Eagles ultimately replaced the often-criticized Kevin Patullo with former Green Bay Packers\u00a0<\/span><\/a>quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s a hornet nest there right now with Hurts,” one agent said about the Eagles’ search for a new OC. “It scared some guys off.”\u00a0<\/p>\n Back in June 2024, a report<\/a> revealed that Sirianni’s seat “could probably not be hotter” after the 2023 Eagles fell from 10-1 to 11-6 before they suffered a blowout wild-card playoff loss at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a>. Sirianni then silenced such chatter by guiding the Eagles to a Super Bowl LIX victory in February 2025, but it seems as if his future with the organization is once again up in the air.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Sirianni has to know his job is on the line with this (offensive coordinator) hire,” one unnamed general manager told La Canfora. “Doug Pederson was out of there a couple of years after winning their first Super Bowl. Howie and Jeffrey will do whatever they think they have to do. Everything is always on the table.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Specifically, Pederson led the Eagles to a Super Bowl title in February 2018.
