The 44-year-old Australian driver has won the two big IndyCar events that take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway &#8211; the 2018 Indy 500 and the IMS road course race four times &#8211; and wants to conquer more events at the iconic 2.5-mile oval.<\/p>\n<p>Power spoke about this desire in a conversation with IndyCar and IMS president Doug Boles. In a new segment of &#8220;Doug and Drivers&#8221; on the IMS YouTube Channel, the Andretti Global driver highlighted his interest in returning to compete in the Indianapolis 8 Hour, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/indycar\/news-felt-awkward-will-power-opens-first-endurance-outing-21-years-indycar-racing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">an Intercontinental GT race he debuted at<\/a> in 2025.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m going to do the Indy 8 Hour again. I hope that&#8217;s happening. Yeah, that was fun. I want to win it, because I&#8217;ve won the oval, I&#8217;ve won the road course in IndyCar, I want to win a sports car race,&#8221; said Power.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p>In response, Boles suggested that Power could do the Brickyard event, to which the two-time IndyCar champion replied:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;That could happen too. We could do it in Xfinity.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In July last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/will-power\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Will Power<\/a> admitted he would &#8220;love&#8221; to do a NASCAR race. He also revealed that an Xfinity team had contacted him for something later that year.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Actually, someone sent me a text recently, asked me what I\u2019m doing the Portland weekend. I can\u2019t remember the team. It would have been for Xfinity. I would do that. Yeah, I love NASCAR.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Power drove for Team Penske&#8217;s IndyCar team for 17 years. Last year, track officials repaired a bump in Turn Two caused by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/nascar\/news-ims-president-stunned-original-1909-stone-unearthed-just-foot-track-surface\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">original bricks from the track&#8217;s 1909 construction pushing through<\/a> the asphalt.<\/p>\n<p>In October, a few IndyCar drivers got to test at the track after the repave. Will Power wasn&#8217;t one of them. In the aforementioned interview, when Doug Boles asked Power if he&#8217;d heard anything about the new Turn Two from the drivers who tested there, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/team\/andretti-autosport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Andretti Global<\/a> driver replied: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I haven&#8217;t heard anything. I&#8217;ll be interested &#8211; Turn 2 is a tough corner too. So I don&#8217;t know how far around you fixed that bump.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When Boles mentioned that the apex exit had been changed, Power replied:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Yeah, apex, I mean, that&#8217;s when you are on the limit. It can make a big difference on how the car behaves if it&#8217;s smoother or the repave has added grip. That will be interesting.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2026, Will Power begins a new chapter in IndyCar.
