India kept themselves alive in the ICC Men\u2019s T20 World Cup 2026 as they beat Zimbabwe<\/a> by a big margin. They made a strong comeback after a loss to South Africa and registered a 72-run win at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday. Asked to bat, India piled up a total of 256 for four, and restricted Zimbabwe to 184 for six. <\/span><\/p>\n

The change in opening pair did wonders for India as Sanju Samson (24) took his team off to a flying start. His quick start allowed Abhishek Sharma (55) get settled as well, and the left-hander hit his first half-century of the T20 World Cup. <\/span><\/p>\n

The 48-run opening stand set the platform as Ishan Kishan (38) also continued his good form and played a great hand at three. He and Abhishek stitched 72 runs for the second wicket and then after that, Suryakumar Yadav (33) was at his best. <\/span><\/p>\n

With the platform for a big finish already set, Hardik Pandya (50*) and Tilak Varma (44) produced blinders as their 84-run stand took India to a massive total of 256 for four.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zimbabwe had a decent start to their innings with Tadiwanashe Marumani (20) and Brian Bennett (97*), who yet again carried his bat through, adding 44 runs for the opening stand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ndia made a quick comeback after that, picking wickets at regular intervals. However, Bennett and Sikandar Raza (31) brought their side back in the game with a 72-run stand. <\/span><\/p>\n

Arshdeep Singh (three for 24) picked two wickets in the 17th over that tilted the game in India\u2019s favour. The Men in Blue restricted Zimbabwe to 184 for six, winning the game by 72 runs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
