Texas Longhorns<\/a> quarterback Arch Manning<\/a> should be good to go for the start of the 2026 season after undergoing offseason foot surgery.<\/p>\n

There’s still a ton of time to go before that season kicks off, of course, but it’s always a bit of an anxious moment whenever a team’s starting quarterback goes under the knife.<\/p>\n

Earlier this offseason, in January, Manning had surgery to clean things up on his foot. Texas called the surgery<\/a> a \u00a0<\/span>“preventative measure to address a previous injury,” and it was so minor that the actual foot he had surgery on wasn’t even revealed.<\/p>\n

Manning has been taking it easy since that surgery, but now, Heather Dinich of ESPN<\/a> is reporting that the Texas quarterback is ready to begin getting after it again.<\/p>\n

Texas quarterback Arch Manning is out of his boot and is starting to throw again after an off-season procedure on his foot to clean up a \u201clingering thing\u201d that wasn\u2019t serious, coach Steve Sarkisian told me today,” Dinich reported. “Manning will be \u201climited, especially early on\u201d this spring, but Sarkisian said he\u2019s not concerned and it will give the younger players a chance to get some more work in.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Arch Manning heading into an all-important 2026 season for both him and Texas<\/h2>\n

This is a big offseason for Manning, so the sooner he can get to 100 percent, the better for both him and Texas.<\/p>\n

Manning struggled at times last season, especailly early on, but he worked through it and ended up having a decent campaign. He threw for 3,163 yards and 26 touchdowns compared to seven interceptions while also rushing for 399 yards and 10 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

The young quarterback is the nephew of Eli Manning and Peyton Manning, and he was hyped up accordingly as a recruit. As such, it was a bit of a shocker to many when he struggled in his first season as the official starter at Texas.<\/p>\n

He could have tried his luck in the NFL Draft, but he decided to stay in Austin for one more season of refinement. Staying healthy in 2026 will be a big part of that process, so the Manning clan and Texas fans have to be breathing a sigh of relief that he’s already itching to get back out there.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
