Nottingham Forest are now on the back foot with Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> seriously keen on jumping the queue to make an “amazing” new signing this summer.<\/p>\n

At this stage of the season, it is almost inconceivable that there is serious debate about whether the 2025 Europa League winners will even remain a Premier League<\/a> side next season, having failed to win a single game in 2026.<\/p>\n

However, that is the position Spurs find themselves in, with the 2-1 defeat at Fulham on Sunday consigning Igor Tudor to his second loss on the spin as interim manager, and even the Premier League took a swipe at goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, in a post that was later deleted.<\/p>\n

Vicario has remained the Lilywhites’ first-choice goalkeeper throughout the campaign, but they have already taken the decision<\/a> to offload the Italian in the summer, regardless of which manager is brought in to replace Tudor.<\/p>\n

As such, Tottenham will need to bring in a replacement between the sticks, and they are now seriously keen on signing RC Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser<\/a>, according to a report from Caught Offside.<\/p>\n

News of the north Londoners’ heightened interest puts Nottingham Forest under pressure, with the Tricky Trees also keen on signing the goalkeeper<\/a>, and they are looking increasingly up against it amid interest from two big Premier League clubs in Spurs and Newcastle United.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Risser’s market valuation is around \u20ac10m (\u00a39m), which seems like a very modest sum, given the level of his performances in Ligue 1 this season…<\/p>\n

Back in December, scout Jacek Kulig<\/a> claimed the Lens shot-stopper is having an “amazing” season in Ligue 1, and he has since continued to impress, averaging the second-best save percentage in the division.<\/p>\n

Vicario, on the other hand, has recorded a save percentage of just 63.6% in the Premier League, which is the fourth-worst in the top flight, ahead of only Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jose Sa, Fulham’s Bernd Leno and Leeds United’s Lucas Perri.<\/p>\n

The Lens star has kept nine clean sheets in Ligue 1 this term, the joint-highest amount in the division, and he could now be ready to test himself in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Risser has proven he could be a real upgrade on Vicario, and his modest valuation means he could be the ideal addition for Tottenham between the sticks this summer.<\/p>\n
