Further to yesterday\u2019s post<\/a>, here\u2019s another pro cycling story I can\u2019t believe I missed<\/a>:<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t the rim, it was \u201cprolonged riding\u201d on the rim:<\/p>\n

The Giant-owned brand, which has for a number of years produced\u00a0hookless rims, says the \u201ctire separation in this incident was not caused by hookless rim design\u201d, with its assessment carried out with the team revealing that \u201cprolonged riding\u201d over cobblestones with a flat and damaged rear Cadex Aero Cotton tyre caused the rim to crack.<\/em><\/p>\n

Hookless rims are perfectly safe if you don\u2019t ride them.<\/p>\n
