Both the people and the officials should treat these individuals as wartime traitors, not as if they just had a protest or performed a symbolic act. The demonstrators chanted \u201clet them go\u201d and struck the side of the bus, leading to police intervention.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/sport\/football\/impossible-situation-iranian-womens-team-facing-jail-death-after-final-game\/news-story\/d75aababb6bfdbd0de24384a180f3d36\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According to a <i>news.com.au<\/i> report<\/a>, one of the women on the bus appeared to make the international sign of \u201chelp\u201d from the window, an apparent SOS message.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey might face execution, like many, many other people in Iran who have been executed just for wanting basic him rights,\u201d Iran supporter Anahita Amini told reporters on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p> Fellow Iranian supporter Hesam Darouei added: \u201cThese people are in trouble, are in serious danger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe really want the Australian Government to do something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Zahra Azadpour, an Iran\u2019s Women\u2019s League footballer that trained with the national side, was gunned down by Islamic Republic forces during protests in Karaj.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the <i>ABC<\/i>, Foreign Minister Penny Wong declared that Australia \u201cstands in solidarity\u201d with the Iranian women\u2019s football team, but stopped short of commenting on whether the Federal Government had reached out to the players or offered assistance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been really moving for Australians to see them in Australia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know this regime has brutally murdered many of its own people. We want people to have freedom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to ensure that women are treated elsewhere in the world like they are in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am not aware that asylum has been requested at this point. If asylum is requested, I have confidence that the government will give it due consideration.
