Spanish lawyer Joan Laporta<\/a><\/strong> was re-elected with a resounding victory in the elections held on Sunday, obtaining almost 70% of the votes of the club’s members<\/strong>. His triumph over Victor Font<\/strong> consolidates his leadership at a key stage for the institutional and sporting future of the team.<\/p>\n The presidential elections at Barcelona<\/strong> marked a new chapter in the club’s democratic history. A total of 114,504 members were eligible to vote<\/strong> to choose the top leader who will lead the institution for the next five years.<\/p>\n Finally, 48,480 people participated, which represented an attendance of 42.34%.<\/strong> Although the figure is lower than that recorded in the 2021 elections, the electoral process went smoothly in the different venues.<\/p>\n The result was clear: Laporta obtained 32,934 votes<\/strong>, equivalent to 68.18% of the total. Font received 14,384 votes<\/strong>, or 29.78%. In addition, 984 blank votes and 177 null votes were recorded.<\/p>\n With this difference, Laporta<\/strong> achieved one of the widest victories in the club’s recent history, a margin not seen since 1997.<\/p>\n A large number of votes were cast at the iconic Camp Nou,<\/strong> where most of the polling stations were set up.<\/p>\n A total of 122 polling stations were set up in five locations: Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and Andorra.<\/strong> However, the Catalan capital concentrated the greatest electoral activity.<\/p>\n Only in Barcelona<\/strong> did 43,282 members vote, demonstrating the weight that the city has in the club’s institutional decisions. Even so, the total turnout was lower than that recorded in 2021, when more than 55,000 members went to the polls.<\/p>\n The festive atmosphere began even before the official results were confirmed.
