Celtic<\/a> manager Martin O\u2019Neill<\/a> senses a squad who are determined to end their dreadful record in Dundee when they run out at Dens Park on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The champions have already lost three times in the City of Discovery this season, under three different managers, the latest a 2-0 defeat at Tannadice two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

They were on the end of the same scoreline along the road in October, which was Dundee\u2019s first home win over Celtic since Tommy Coyne netted a winner in 1988.<\/p>\n

A fourth defeat in the same street would leave Celtic facing a major uphill struggle to retain the William Hill Premiership title and O\u2019Neill\u2019s players are eager to improve on their Tayside record.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe non-international players got a few days off and then we\u2019ve been training all week,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the training, the manner in which they\u2019ve trained, I think that gives you good confidence in that sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I\u2019ve seen teams who\u2019ve trained brilliantly and then things didn\u2019t materialise at the weekend. But overall, I\u2019ve been really happy with the training.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fairness, I think that the players themselves, we\u2019ve all had a look at it. I\u2019m sure that the players have thought about their own individual performances and just want to try and put it right if they can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dundee have eased their relegation concerns with an upturn in form since late December but manager Steven Pressley is braced for the possibility that things could yet become fraught in the weeks ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs long as we focus on doing what\u2019s required and performing and improving then hopefully we can get over the line, but if it takes to the last game of the season, that\u2019s what it takes, and we have to be aware of that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Dundee now have the chance to make it back-to-back home wins over Celtic in the league for the first time since 1972.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like throwing statistics at the players,\u201d said Pressley. \u201cIt\u2019s like ammunition for myself and I think the players like that, they like the challenges that we put in front of them. The reason we\u2019ve improved a lot as a club is the attitude of the players has been terrific over the period.<\/p>\n

The Celtic manager, a three-time Premiership winner during his first spell with the club, has revealed he would be open to a new advisory role next season, but only under certain conditions.<\/p>\n

O’Neill wants a manager who has the final say on all transfer matters working under a committee, via The Glasgow Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I genuinely do not know that at all. It\u2019s not that I don\u2019t want to (stay next season).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

“Even when we had a little bit of time last week, where we could have had time to do something, I didn\u2019t have a conversation with Michael (Nicholson) on that score.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
