He is playing in his farewell season on Tour and has played only a handful of matches so far for a 2-4 win-loss.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman won a match each at Indian Wells and the Mexican Open. He has been in decent form coming into the tournament this year, boasting of a 7-6 win-loss for the season.<\/p>\n<p>The Dutchman reached the final at Dubai and has two other quarterfinals to his name. On clay, however, things can unfold a little differently.<\/p>\n<p>The Dutchman\u2019s flat hitting and big serve are huge assets in quick conditions, but he is forced to work much harder on the slower red dirt. Gael Monfils\u2019 exceptional court coverage and versatility will only add to his woes.<\/p>\n<p>The former finalist has not played a lot of tennis but he will come into the clay season rejuvenated after a three-week break.
