Glasgow Rangers<\/a> head coach Danny Rohl<\/a> knows that his team will win the Scottish Premiership<\/a> if they win each of their remaining six matches in the division.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Light Blues moved to the top of the Premiership, albeit briefly, with a 4-2 win over Dundee United at Ibrox on Saturday, thanks to goals from Ryan Naderi, Dujon Sterling, Thelo Aasgaard, and Bojan Miovski.<\/p>\n

Rangers are set to travel to Falkirk in their last match before the split, when they will then have the chance to take points off their title rivals once again.<\/p>\n

The Gers have won their last three matches in the Premiership, scoring nine goals, and they will be looking to use that positive momentum to propel themselves to a first title since 2021.<\/p>\n

However, their chances of carrying on their fine form could take a hit because of injury concerns, particularly after Naderi was withdrawn with an issue on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The 6 foot 4 centre-forward was selected to lead the line for the Scottish giants ahead of Youssef Chermiti and Miovski, and he paid back Rohl’s faith in him by scoring the opening goal.<\/p>\n

After a strong first-half display, in which he scored and won five of his ten duels, Naderi was taken off at half time to be replaced by Chermiti.<\/p>\n

When asked about the issue after the game, Rohl said<\/a>: \u201cYeah, he was not OK, a little bit of a problem, hopefully not too serious. I think he did really well as a ball player up front. He scored, which was nice<\/span> to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

The German head coach could only hope that it is not too serious and confirmed that there was enough of a concern that he had to be taken off at the break, which is worrying ahead of next weekend’s trip to Falkirk.<\/p>\n

If the \u00a34.7m winter signing<\/a> from Hansa Rostock is unavailable for selection against Falkirk, Rohl will need to bring another player in to take his place in the side, and it should not be Chermiti.<\/p>\n

The Portugal U21 international has now scored one goal in 19 matches against Premiership teams that are not Hearts or Celtic for the Gers this season, after coming off the bench to fail to score from six shot attempts against Dundee United.<\/p>\n

Instead of playing Chermiti, who has struggled badly as a centre-forward against most of the league, Rohl should get creative and unleash a star who is not even a striker.<\/p>\n

Djeidi Gassama came off the bench to create three chances and provide an assist for Aasgaard’s goal in an electric cameo against Dundee United, and he should be unleashed in a new role as a centre-forward.<\/p>\n

Football FanCast compared<\/a> the former Sheffield Wednesday star to ex-Rangers forward Fashion Sakala due to his speed, direct style of play, and ability to be a constant threat to opposition defences.<\/p>\n

Whilst that comparison was made off the back of his performance on the right flank, Sakala played as a centre-forward as well as a winger for the Gers, using his pace to cause problems running off the last line, and Gassama could follow in his footsteps.<\/p>\n

As Sakala did during his time at Ibrox, Gassama could utilise his pace to put centre-backs under constant pressure in and out of possession, which could cause real problems for the Falkirk backline.<\/p>\n

The Mauritania international is not a natural striker, as he typically plays on the left or right flank, but he has shown a knack for getting into strong goalscoring positions this season, amassing 4.64 xG in 23 starts.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Sakala did during his time at the club, Gassama would carry a constant threat up front with his pace in behind and ability to get into goalscoring positions as well as being a creative talent. <\/p>\n

If Naderi is unavailable for selection, playing the former Championship star in a new role as a centre-forward could be an interesting solution to replace the German frontman, given Chermiti’s struggles in the league.<\/p>\n

However, it is down to Rohl to be bold and move away from the easy choice to unleash a natural number nine to take Naderi’s place in the side.<\/p>\n
