Captain of Multan Sultans, Ashton Turner, pointed fingers at tournament planners regarding the tight calendar in this year\u2019s Pakistan Super League. Despite that, his team leads the 2026 standings having won four out of five games so far. Victory came first over Quetta Gladiators on Sunday, played under lights at Gaddafi Stadium. One more followed swiftly, another win \u2013 this time against Rawalpindi Pindiz \u2013 at the very same ground one day later. After facing the Gladiators, he spoke up about back-to-back fixtures. Recovery time between matches? Practically none, according to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cMight go and find somewhere to get a blanket and a pillow and sleep here \u2013 very short turnaround,\u201d Turner said during the post-match presentation.<\/p>\n
Even with little time to prepare, Turner highlighted how smoothly each part of the squad contributed during their win against Quetta Gladiators. What stood out was the way roles blended without gaps.<\/p>\n
\u201cSlightly different conditions than the last two games. We did well in all three facets, which is satisfying. I was probably going to bowl the first over, but we expected two left-handers at the top. Fair play to them \u2013 they changed that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Far from done, Turner saw room to grow despite high spirits in camp. Not quite hitting top form, the team still chases what feels like a full game together. A flawless victory? Still out of reach, even with good energy around. The pieces haven\u2019t fully clicked, he said, though belief runs deep<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are having fun, a lot of smiles in our dressing room. Whilst we strive for a perfect game, we know there is a little bit we can improve. They were really tough wickets to bowl; first half done, important to take learnings forward. We have the luxury of bowling options and we want to have a wrist spinner in our ranks; conditions will dictate, might not bowl them as much\u2026 we know they are match-winners and they are going to be an important part going forward,\u201d said Turner.<\/p>\n
