The 19-year-old Griffin is getting a new nine-year deal from the Pirates for an immense sum of money that marks the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/articles\/pirates_owner_addresses_konnor_griffins_record_breaking_extension\/s1_13132_43701643\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">largest contract in Pittsburgh franchise history<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with reporters later in the day on Wednesday, the Pirates ace pitcher Skenes was asked about Griffin\u2019s extension and said that he was \u201csuper happy\u201d for Griffin and his family.
